Would it be bad to start a 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula(LT1) with no transmission fluid in the manual transmission just to hear it run?

Whys that ? My friend thinks that there is something in the transmission that it still spinning that will get damaged cause its not lubricated... i dont know everything about transmissions but the only thing i think that will be spinning would be the flywheel or something in that area..

It;ll either be in Neutral or a clutch engaged, no damage..
gina
no issue.

I actually think thats a horrible idea!!

You start it up, and you're gonna want to drive it, then get pissed at yourself because you cant! tongue.gif
But what they said, no damage.
BOTTLEDZ28
no issues. Why is there no fluid in the tranny?
