The next level of Programmable IC Modules has lead me into the LCD world. but dont get too excited, they're only black and white for now, but im workin on it!

Here is a arduino module video that I assembled as a unit that plugs directly on the board. This is not a graphics LCD, it only displays characters. it's 16 characters by two lines. The reason for using this is to visualize data that you cant see. For instance, to bring this into the automotive perspective...

Say you are possibly tuning your auto, or just want to add something just to have it. You (or I) can program this display to show any information that you want! by tapping in a reading voltages from sensors in the engine bay and elsewhere, you can have it display things like Speed, RPM, TPS value, MAF reading, EGR Vac PSI, MAP Value, the time (lol), +V reading, even the Current draw on the alternator (that's really neifty for the audio enthusiasts). Anything you heart desires!

here is a video of a text based LCD in it's simulated glory. Its not reading any values, they're sample values that i programmed it to display.

Graphics LCD SIM is done as well, but im lookin for a better camera

Well, to express yourself on the road, I have a couple of huge LED scrolling signs that are also multi color. one of those in the window and everyone will see what you got to say.

This is only one that display characters, I have another one that displays images, once i get some kind of animation going, ill make another video of the graphics one as well.

The reason I post these is so you guys can think of applications for this stuff, like if you had one, how would you use it? it has analog pins on it so it can read voltages from sensors and stuff, ill have to show you guys how it works.

Im just glad i got the LCD interfacing right, it was a pain in the ass to get! part numbers, pinouts, refresh rates, frames per second...lots of craziness! hahaha
