I need as much info as possible on this repair. I replace the radiator only to find out the water pump is junk. How hard is the install and any special tools for the job??

It's a 95 V6 camaro...

Josh, does the water pump have any bullshit on it. like the V8s do? It cant be too bad as long as you can get to it.

should be a straightforward install....that engine bay is wide open and the water pump is right there

Yea it's really not that hard at all. Plenty of room to work with and just basic bolts that come off. There are an awful lot of bolts actually holding the water pump in place, but none of them are tricky. Just simple unscrewing and then just make sure to make a good seal with the water pump else it may leak.

I'M ASSUMING ITS THE WATER PUMP. IT HAD MORE THAN ONE LEAK.....

Did you change out both top and bottom tubes to the radiator when you did the radiator itself?

DIDNT REPLACE HOSES ,LOOKED OK TO ME, COOLANTS ENDS UP COMING FROM CENTER LOWEST PULLEY.......WATER PUMP IS ABOVE THAT PULLEY.

then i would just change the water pump. If i remember correctly, just had to take off the alternator, tensioner pulley and a small other part of the belt assembly and then of course the water pump. i'm sure you can manage on your own, but if you want help just give me a yell. I just did mine a few months ago and i'm guessing you have the exact same engine as i do in the firebird.

Sounds good. I can do bodywork, this mechancal stuff makes me nervous. I can do some stuff. Water pumps are cheap for this one......At least there's a couple of folks I can call...I'm just worried of putting the water pump and it'll be something else..
