bad pump?
Stangman_NB
I can't remember exactly what it was but I know they are known to be not as reliable as the 99+ because they fixed whatever issue it was in 99. If I remember right it had to do more with burning oil.....damn wish I could remember Jessie.

That's what I was thinking

also 98 has a different computer than 99 and above. I don't have any oil problems but I do have an aftermarket oil pump.

Rearends are weak.

yeah rearends are weak regardless what year...and we say weak but dont think if you keep it relatively stock your going to have to worry much its when u start putting significant power to it that the 10bolt shits the bed. Mine has been fine, im also at 112k but i have an 02

id stay away from the 98s...actually id look into getting a 2000+......2001 & 2002s came with the LS6 intake which, if u get a car without it, ull prob want to end up investing in anyway.

Mileage isnt a real issue though, the motors are strong and other than the rear ends which like i said isnt much of an issue unless your racing it
