For some reason I keep eyeballing 1000 V-twins like the RC51 and the ever-rare SV1000. Then I start wondering if I'd want a street bike with plastic and clip-ons and TL1000's came to mind. I know nothing about them, so I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them or opinions? This would probably be a second bike still for street and track use.

I really got thinking since there's a TL1000R for sale nearby for $3k. I'm not 100% sure on year or mileage however. I may go test ride it this weekend if I'm not still working on the trans swap on my Mustang. I'd like to know if it's worth it.

I have heard a lot of good things about the R but not the S......I almost traded my 7 for an R, but the bike looked kinda beat after thoroughly checking it out. The S's are notorious for bad head shake, giving them a "widow maker" reputation.

btw posted the high res pics for ya on the other thread but I am too lazy to PM you couch.gif

Yeah I've read the S's have been blamed for being unstable by those who have wrecked on them, I guess they fixed it for the R's? Not sure though. I'd also like to know what the people were doing when they wrecked.

I saw the high res pics, they didn't show up as the large size at work today. Our work filter is something else...
