Well, upon watching MTVJams tonight, I stumbled upon a realization.

I'll admit, I liked Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around". Solid song, good vocals, catchy beat. Obviously, thats what Timbaland's production can do for a song.

Now I see Rihanna on my TV. Sweet, she's hot and pretty talented. Little did i know the disappointment I was about to run into.

Her song starts, called "Rehab". I'm assuming it was produced by Justin timberlake. The two of these wonder-fools sniped the beat from "What goes around" and just changed the upper melody, drums and hi hat are the same. Her vocals almost mirror his. Not only that, he's in the video, and throws in a few shadow phrases (like when she asks a question and he answers it in the background)!!!!!!

Lost a lot of respect for Rihanna when I heard that song.

Should also be noted, JT wrote his song shortly after his split with Britney Spears. Hm. Interesting, considering Rihanna released rehab shortly after Chris Brown smacked her ass around. Now I actually UNDERSTAND his frustration.

So you guys can hear what i'm talking about, here's the youtube videos for each, try playing them separately, and then at the same time:

JT (song starts around 1:13):

Rihanna (song starts around 38 seconds):

i agree, but a DIRECT copy of a song? And now, after re-listening to JT's "Cry me a river", it seems as though HE even reused that track for both songs!

unbelievable.

yes, however listen to "let the beat rock" by them. It more than makes up for it, seriously.

You want no talent? Turn on cw after 8 pm. That's some of the worst acting I've ever seen

Alot of music now are remixes with older songs because Soulja boy took all them bangin' beats.

soulja boy, IMO, is awful. Lucky he caught on with the mid-highschool crowd but his lyrics are terrible.

And i'm not talking remixes, I like that kind of stuff...but when you straight up reuse the exact beat and change one component (a different kick, or timing on the hi-hat), its ridiculous.

It's probably a recorded synthesized beat that they both have in their collection of beats.
Most recordings have synthesized drums beats and they just change a few things but keep the beat.
Rarely is there a live drummer at recordings anymore.
Most drummers sound different because thats their trademark,no drummer,no need to save a trademark drum sound.
Just pull it off the hard-drive and put it in a song.

My post was sarcasm although I do like the new Kid Cuddy remix with Lady GaGa and shit.
