and they wonder why they lose money.

i only skimmed the article, but i caught a part that said they didnt want a V6 owner scooping up the hood and tossing it on their car. that was part of their excuse behind the price. Why wouldnt they want them to buy a hood from them? thats just pointless.
Junior
that makes perfect sense they want to keep it exclusive to the people that have forked out the money for that car they dont want anyone copying it
bonnEVIL
blah blah blah protecting the integrity of the name...blah blah blah

doesnt mean its not stupid when theyre losing money.

if you read the whole thing, the initial reasoning makes sense, BUT seriously if you can buy the car for 70 and the frikkin hood costs 20k.....there's smething wrong with this picture.

Buy one and sell all the KR body crap, make it look like a stock GT w/kr drive train and get the performance on the cheap wink.gif

I was thinking that exact same thing, especially if you intend on driving the car the way it's meant to be driven and don't care if value goes up later.

I would hate to be a Shelby owner in an accident where they wouldn't replace a specific part of my car because the original wasn't returned to them. What on earth would you do then? facepalm.gif

I think GM did this back in the day with the WS6 and SS hoods. Not as extreme though. You had to prove you had an SS or firehawk/WS6 in order to purchase a hood. That didnt fly for too long though.

"The last thing we wanted was a customer slapping a KR carbon fiber hood on his V6"

Its about time mustang owners started crackin down on the v6 owners
