Full Version: Scratch Fix Question

As most of you know Nicoles car got backed into at the Putnam CT show. Well the officer FINALLY did the police report and he says no one is at fault because there is no witness so he doesn't know exactly what happened. Fine. But because of that I cannot have the scratch fixed by the jerks insurance company. I thought of going to his house, I do have the address, but I'm not willing to get in trouble over what could happen. SO, how should I go about fixing this? Would one of those Duplicolor touch up things work? And if so how do I make it blend so it dissapears? No monies = I have to do it
Sully
tough up paint
wet sand
buff
Sully
sarah (pro detailer) says dont buff it cause its on a corner.

I say buff it by hand with a polishing compound.... like scratch x
Southbridge06GT
Doesn't scratch x just come off when you wash the car?
Sully
its a polish.... it buffs the paint to a shine actually sanding the scratches out. Turtle wax makes a polishing compound so does 3m and a few others. Yes it washes off, but its already done its job when it polishes the paint. You need to go over it with wax after to coat the paint. Im sure either Sarah or someone will explain it better or correct me where Im wrong
Southbridge06GT
Well where is the woman?
Sully
sick
Southbridge06GT
Well so am I but I'm here!
Sully
she agrees but be careful cause the touch up paint isnt going to be as thick as normal paint.
Southbridge06GT

your parts store will also have a nice refillable spray can that you can dump the touch up liquid paint into and use it like a rattle can.
they work really well
