So I just sprung a leak in my power steering line. Its a pressure line, but not the return line. well in the line there is a plastic box thingy with a metal disc attached. It seems to be leaking from that. I wanna order the correct part. Im just curious if anyone knows if that part is a seperate part or if it should come on the line. ( I tried looking at pics on line but I dunno if they are just using a generic picture to advertize the part. It doesnt apper to be in the picture) Im not sure what it does maybe its a one way valve or something. any help would be appreciated. thanx

dunno.gif all I do know is its leaking from that, but I don't know what part to call it. I cant get to the parts store. I drove home with it pissing out fluid and now its empty. I dont wanna burn up the pump either. Was just hoping to order the part before I head to the races tonite, so I can fix it on monday.
Ms. MonteSSgurl
well gawd damn I finally figured out what that part is.....missing wire woulda given it away. I guess its a temp sensor. well we will be bypassing all that considering I dont use a computer for my car.

It's probably the pressure deal that makes the idle speed increase if the wheel is cranked all the way.. I bet you're ECU isn't even hooked up, so it doesn't do anything smile.gif

Ms. MonteSSgurl
ya it was painful figuring it out, but now that I have, I feel a hell of alot better. Now hopefully the parts store can get the new line in for me by monday. TY!

damn i shoulda read this earlier... im pretty sure that switch shuts the a/c off when its at full lock and your burning up the pump.
Ms. MonteSSgurl
ya i guess it really isnt a temp thingy. WTF! can I just bypass the crappy ass thing. I dont have AC! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........seriously worst friday eva!

Yes just bypass it it all together and run a staight line from the pump to the steering box. I couldnt get the pics to load on my computer but Im willing to get that the line is the same as the ones on the Fbodies. I could be wrong though. GM did and still does some pretty dumb things.
Ms. MonteSSgurl
took care of it yesterday after I got home from the race. I be back in action. It went surprisingly easy too. ty everyone.
