I have been having problems with my car lately. Every so often, and completely randomly, it will feel like the car is about to stall and then kick back alive. sometimes it does this real quick (milliseconds) and other times it's for a good second. Both the fuel line and the fuel filter have been changed, and it did seem better. Then, today, it started doing it again and it actually stalled at a stop sign. I don't want to have to put a $300 part into a car if it's not going to fix it. How can I check to see if it actually IS the fuel pump and not a vacuum leak/electrical issue?
I just changed all plugs/wires/coil packs in march. they couldn't have gone bad that fast could they?

my cobra does the same thing. I think it's IAC or TPS related, but more likely a vac leak. I know it's not my fuel pump because 1. i have a fuel pressure gauge and the fuel pressure isnt dropping, and 2. because i can hear my pump. If your car doesnt have a fuel press gauge you won't be able to tell.
It's 100 bucks for an evap test to find a vacuum leak, do that before you do anything else.

Use a vac. gauge and check for a leak, you can also use a Fuel pressure gauge to check fuel PSI. Is it throwing any codes?
