whats up . i got a 94 s10 with a 350 tbi 5 speed conversion. latly when i take the truck out of gear to come to a stop it will stay rev at 2000 rpm and it will take forever to cme back down to normal idle. while i am driving it will also want to stay goin even wen my foot is off the gas. ive replaced the tps and the iac but there is still the issue. any help in solving my problem would be appreciated thanks.

isn't there an idle adjustment screw on the throttle body on those things? That may be off OR the throttle body may be getting stuck open itself.

yes there is an idle adjustment screw on the TBI engines. It's located on the bracket that acttaches to the throttle cable. More than likely it's the throttle body itself thats sticking if it eventually comes back down

i doubt its the adjustment screw because it doesnt happen all the tme. but im going to grab a can of cleaner tommorow and ill see wat happens . thanks

Im not sure if the TBI computers work the same as a TPI computer, but what you described is what happens when you run a manual trans with an auto ECM on a TPI motor... might be something to look at.

ahhh, you decribe one of the common and dreaded iddues with TPI and TBI engines. Spence ma be on to something with the mis matched ECM. best bet is to pull the ECM and get the code off the chip. Then we can figure out which trans its programmed for. Also, you say you changed out the TPS. Did you calibrate it with a mulitmeter? You cannot just install the TPS snesor and be done with it. It must be calibrated and adjusted. Its not too difficult. If I get a chance I will find the procedure on line for the TBI engines.
