Ok guys with the cold weather starting i have decided to come out of my hibernation esp with needing a little extra cash. I am going to start doing remote starts from my house I can do most cars but there are some i cant do or some that i will not do. Sorry some are just too much of a risk to try and play with. and some Code Alarm / audiovox ones

I CAN do a manual transmission correctly does require an alarm start i will not do it with just a remote start and it must be a compustar.

My installs will have every option available to me to do within reason included in the price

i will charge parts plus labor for this and you will pay what i gte the parts for.

My work is useually expensive due to how long i take and how meticulious i can be but i will make my prices a little bit more flexible due to the economic misfortunes of people right now everyones price will be diffrent. So please keep the price between me and you. My prices will reflect the car and not the person if thats what anyone would be thinking.

I have just found a nice deal on a bunch of DEI Hornet 570T Remote starters less than $40 shipped this remote start has lock, unlock, remote start , Pit stop function, and Time mode

Pit stop function means you can bump the remote start to keep your car running for up to 15 minutes whil eyou take the keys and get out simply press button 1 before you remove the key and then you can lock the doors and leave the car running while you run into the gas station or somewhere quickly

The timer mode can be set for really cold nights where you press buttons 1 and 2 at the same time twice and the car will start for 10 or 15 minutes every 3 hours up to 6 times or untill you hop in the car and go so that way on really really coldnights you dont wake to a dead battery.

i know my sister had one done on her freelander a while back, but she had that cockamayme one that you called from a cell phone and it would start the truck. I just want one that's integrated either to the factory key or with just one button on a separate remote (my key has the land rover logo as the unlock button and a separate lock button)

This has alot more options that the Hornet but less that the viper a great middle of the road remote start and a lot newer looking remote styling.

A nice 2 way that i have now just found really good pricing on is the DEI Viper 571XP

These are in close out and kindda hard to find but a nice 2way system if i remeber correctly Circuit city used to sell these at like $299 plus install

If this was done at my shop when i had it for a normal car it would have been $99 for the remote start installed $50 for the bypass $50 to install the bypass $25-$50 for keyless entry $45 for trunk pop and each and every other option was more and more pm me if your intrested it will be cheaper then when i had the store first time i am going cheaper than the stores prices i useually went about $100 higher than the store prices cause it was custome side job work!

I know we have Vendors for performance but do those vendors do electronics like starters? just curious cause from what I see from the vendors section there's a couple performance parts ones but none for electronics.

i was the 12V vendor at one point and there is currently not a 12V vendor at this time if there was and they asked me not to do this and or were advertising doing this i would more than be happy not even open my mouth about it

Nope, it's an autotragic unfortunately. I just have an aftermarket shifter on there. I also don't have a spare key for it. Is there a bypass you can install?

what are the options for a diesel with glow plugs and extended cranking time?

there are a bunch of them DEI does a real good job of it with the wait to start wire i connect it to the glow plug wire and the RS will wait to crank untill that light goes out then once it goes out it starts the truck and as far as crank times i can run a tack wire so it will sense the tack so as soon as it does it stops cranking or i can set the crank time dependeing on the unit for upto i think 60 seconds

This one is kind of cool. I like the defrosters option...if that means it'll automatically start my rear defroster.

Can you do one one the Redline? It's 5spd so the clutch has to be deactivate or w/e, but I'm sure you've done this 100s of time. lol. I can't do Sat Nov 14th or Sun Nov 29th, but any other Saturday or Sunday would be fine if possible. I'm not decided on what brand/type. I don't know anything on starters, so I'd go with whatever you'd suggest.

Your truck is not very difficult to do glow plug wire is the hardest part!
Splicing and soldering is the best way to do it man
