Well I've been looking around online since I got my 323ci and decided since it needs a new hood and trunk lid I'm going to make it look like an m3. I priced out carbon fiber m3 hood, trunk lid and thought about doing the carbon fiber roof but don't want to loose the sunroof so I think I'll skip the roof. I'm also thinking about flat black like this one. What do you all think?

always loved flat black cars. if you are going to do it, you have to make sure to find staggered rims like the one pictured otherwise the car wont look right.

I agree, was thinking black staggered wheels with a polished lip.

rather than do the carbon roof, paint it black or do a black vinyl overlay. Will look nice.

The concave wheels are nice too. Starting to get excited about working on the car, haven't started yet. I think I'm going to start it in January and hopefully have it and the truck completed by April.

junior, it's all about how you say it.
the way you said it originally implied that he was doing nothing but cosmetic upgrades and you were looking down upon that.
if he mirror copied an m3, sure i'd like to see the power behind it. But since he's going for a custom look with certain m3 touches (csl lid, black or carbon roof, etc.), it's no different than customizing any bmw.
You have to remember you can't interpret intent through text.

I think you interpreted it wrong. He didn't say anything out of line, unlike the C4 thread where it was harsh.

well, given the track record yes I may have. But i'm sure I'm not the only person who would have read it the way i did.

This car isn't going to get many power upgrades. Definitely not enough to take it to m3 power levels, I don't plan on passing this car off as an m3 or turn it into an exact clone. I'm just taking some things from the m3, this car will be a great daily driver that looks better than a stock 10 year old bmw.

I really wanted to finish it too but having christmas done without any cc is great and I was able to buy a winter beater. I bought a 1995 2 door tahoe. I missed my full size blazer and now I can keep the miles off of the avalanche and finish that this winter. I leave in a few weeks for Pa. and from what I've been hearing the Poconos gets slammed with snow so the 4 wheel drive will be nice.
