I found an 8.8 from a 95 gt for $80. the only problem is that it doesn't come with axles so I was wondering if anyone knows if I'll be able to take the axles out of my 7.5 and throw them into the 8.8.

IIRC, the 7.5 and 8.8 have different axle lengths....the axle length is even different from the sn95 8.8 to the new edge 8.8

Im pretty sure they dont fit.. IIRC the spline count on the shafts is different than an 8.8 carrier and the carrier of a 7.5 wont work in a 8.8 housing.


Buy some aftermarket shafts...itd be a good investment and for the fact that the axle is out of the car makes it a very easy job.

I found a couple places that say the 94 7.5 axles and the 94 8.8 axles are the same. One place said they are the same part number from ford too. I guess I'll find out when I get the rearend.
