I'm tempted to purchase this game for the PC. It's been quite a while since I've played a multiplayer FPS, so this would be a nice revival game.

you don't want to revive it with this game.

I wasn't aware Steam was the only option for multiplayer (or perhaps I am misreading the above text). That's disturbing, to say the least.

Steam is, quite simply, a disaster.

Edit: An eighteen player maximum per server? That's quite disappointing. I surely hope that the maximum player limit is pliant via server side modifications. Although I admit ignorance in regards to this game, so I'm not certain how the server aspect properly functions.

Perhaps I will reconsider this purchase.

As did I. I simply have no use for it at the moment, and found its presence to be more of a liability than an asset. My opinion is certainly a bias moreso than a statistic.

I'm looking more into this; what a trainwreck! [For the PC] The server selection process is automatic? Am I reading this correctly? And PunkBuster has been replaced with an alternate program that borders on useless.

And no independent server generation and customization? I am hoping that my ability to comprehend articles is diminishing, because this is shameful.

from what ive followed about MW2 theyve definitely neglected the PC community.

^^It certainly appears so.

My FPS history goes back well into the mid-90's, and then competitively (i.e: wasting 8-9 hours per day practicing) with Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Enemy Territory early this decade. So to see a system based off of a distinct hierarchy platform is remarkably disappointing. RtCW and ET allowed for independent servers (mostly Linux-based) run by individuals; it was complete freedom. This is why I have issues with this.

Steam is a mess.

My FPS days go back to Doom2 via modem.. No Steam, no Punkbuster. there were no cheats other than IDKFA. I tried Quake3, I couldn't keep up. I had fun with Battlefield 1942, due to the vehicle choices.

As for the list posted.. I was guilty of the hacking up a lung deal this past weekend, and I got bitched at for it by some 8 year old lol.gif

IDKFA.

My gosh, that brings back so many memories! lol.gif

I love PC FPS's. Unfortunately, many of them are focused on presenting impeccable graphics versus satisfactory gameplay that provides a challenge and replay value. RtCW, ET, and F.E.A.R were the last two that entertained me.
