I found this and figured i would share it with you guys and gals if anyone is intrested in this i will be attempting to do the ring around the X in the center this weekend i must double check my LED's first but i should be good to go if not i will buy the correct ones and do this mod then i will attempt the buttons following that and see how that goes and then finally do the center X on the Xbox button. If it comes out good and anyoen wants me to do it for them i may start buying and selling LED modded controllers!

but here is a how to if you wanna try it yourself!

have fun guys and i would try this on a crap controller first i am goign to be searching to ensure this will work on wireless as well if not i will be giving it a shot on the wireless and let you guys know my results

Doing a little bit more digging i found that this should also work for the wireless controller the same way

remember if you plan to mod the console itself, it voids any warranty you hvae
Hyland33
i looked that up a while ago...thought about doing but i'd end up breaking it probably
Tap
Yeah i have not had any plans to do that yet if i do it will be the led's on the ring in the front to go from green to orange as i have the Halo 3 special addition xbox 360 and it is green and have orange chrome accents on it i am not worried about voiding the warranty on it anymore as if i were to get the red rings i am very confident i shoul dbe able to fix that issue myself with the research i have done so far and my knowledge of electronics and building circuits

from the same site here is a step by step in how to repair the rings of death

I do have a degree in electronics engineering technologies ( i am not an engineer but did have several classes on circuit and circuit building) I even built my own amplifier from scratch for my final roject everything from designing the circuit board to building the case to choosing the propper pad size and components for the circuit board and tracing out the traces inside then sending the design off to have it built. I have total confidence in my ability to mod the controler with a few LED's as i do witgh being able to get a remote start in 95% of the cars out there (there are some i just dont wanna deal withthe headach and will not do ) so if it all goes well and you want one of your controlers modded hyland let me know

ahhh gottcha yeah that should be brought up but thats why i only mentioned modding the controller also some mods are illegal like certain chips it is illegal to store games you DO NOT OWN on the 360 you can also be kicked off of xbox live for having a modded box and you can also get kicked off if you get reported too many times for a modded contorller (IE: one made to have an automatic trigger)

so i didnt have all the time in the world tonight but i was able to successfully complete the soldering of one of the blue LED's in place to replace one of the green led's on the ring of the wireless remote looks pretty cool. tomorrow i will be replacing the other 3 i just need to find a better tip for my soldering iron and i will possibly be replacing or adding a few led's to the power button and if i have time drill out the abxy buttons and place led's in there even though i may need to go out shopping for led's!
