Well i didnt really play xbox much till i got forza 3 now i need Live can any one give me a list of what i need?

you need the same type of cable that you would connect to a computer for internet. You plug one end in the router, the other into your xbox.

the xbox should default to automatic network settings. DON'T TOUCH THE NETWORK CONFIGURATION. Your router will hand out a DHCP ip address setup and dns servers to make it all work.


Then, you need to purchase the subscription to xbox live. You can do this either on your computer, or on the xbox by using a credit card. Once that's done, you tie the account to an email address, and a gamertag.

Then, reboot your xbox, and youre good.

i'm sorry not to be an ass but your on a computer thats on the internet right now and you don't you don't know what a ethernet cable is? you know this plug spot on the back of you xbox that say internet thats were the ethernet cables gos and it connects to your router or modem or combo unit

you don't need credit card you can purchase subscription cards at stores like walmart, kmart and target. in monthly denomiation 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months

id say that buying a subsription at a store is your best bet, they renew it automatically if you do it over the internet on your xbox.

at least they used to, 6-7 yrs ago when i did it there wasnt an optino to not have them renew it.

Mine ended on me the otherday when i was playing...kinda lame..just had to go to the dashboard and pay for another gold account

if you have verizon, you already have a router in your house. Best buy, radio shack, any of those places will have ethernet cables.

The 'modem' that verizon puts in your house with fios is multiple devices in one. It's a coax converter, router, wireless access point, and 4-port switch all on one board. Just plug the cable from your xbox to one of the 4 open ports on it, and you're good to go. Let everything be assigned automatically.
