Car is a 2000 Malibu 3.1

Would start at all so I changed out the filter since its never been done. After that it still wouldnt start so with the advice of someone else I used a fused jumper wire to jump the pump and figured out the pump was bad and wasnt pumping, lots of gurggling sounds coming from it and no fuel coming out of the line.

I just got in from changing the pump and now the damn thing wont prime or turn on unless I use the jumper wire.. WTF!

Anyone got any advice? Also the pump sounds good now and I can hear the fuel going through the regulator since the system has fuel now but it still wont start even with the pump jumped. I just cant figure it out, also last time I checked there was spark but god knows if the injectors are ticking..

there might be some type of relay for the fuel system...i had that probelm with a grand prix i had a while back

The relay is good, i puled it out when it was working to jump the pump. I wonder if I shorted a fuse while jumping it though.

might as well check that

Oddly enough theres no fuel pump fuse only the relay.. kinda odd

should be a circuit breaker reset somewhere in the trunk or under the dash

When I was jumping the pump i musta shorted the injector fuse.

wouldnt it be funny if it was the injector fuse the whole time and it didnt need a fuel pump at all? i think that would be funny......

No the pump was junk before I even tried to jump it. It wasnt pumping ANYTHING and had 0 fuel pressure when I was diagnosing.
