Cable on my tranny is ruined this Transmision is being used in a racing application is the cable necessary? Ive read that its only for shiftng from 3-2 and If I plug it its fine any feedback ? If I read correctly I would have to manually shift which is fine?

I would think you need it for proper downshifts from part throttle to WOT. Unless you have a full manual valve body.
