Child. That is not a diffuser.

They cut holes in the rear bumper instead of buying or making a diffuser to reduce drag. The holes let the air flow thru the rear bumper instead of a parachute effect.

A diffuser is a plate that flattens the bottom out.

those are what you previously called 'turbo holes'. It's a pretty weak way to get the effect of a diffuser. In this application, I'm sure it's functional because he probably gutted everything that wasnt necessary.

In most other street applications, the fuel tank and all the cladding underneath the car don't even allow the air to hit the front side of the rear bumper, thus they are useless and quite frankly ugly.

And neil, you're partly right. The diffuser he is referring to is the GT/LM type that actually directs airflow to stabilize the car at high speeds, like this:

appreciate the explanation wouldnt say Id do it but I have no where to talk that car is sick you could put holes in the fenders and doors and sir youd still have a sick car !!!

He as in me? Or Nick?

Not all diffusers have channels in it. Having a car with a smooth bottom will increase the downforce the car has making it stick to the road better at high speeds. Thou alot of them do because well if your going to build it why not go all out? Anywho I was just talking about a simple one that would work for solving that problem, rear bumper drag.

Oh and just because I found this pic

He has no rear reinforcement in the bumper, its pretty much to reduce drag on the car...I know he was sppose to put a chute on it soon. He has mentioned that last time we were up in New Bedford!!!!

yes, you're absolutely right there. I meant 'he' as in nick, as that's what he implied.

If he can get that car to hook sure it wont do 150 but she'll be trapping pretty high...660+whp is nothing to sneeze at
