Nrw
looks nice other than being WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too over priced.
FWDLOL
The car is beautiful! But I'm with neil the price is thru the roof! But 60k! Wowwwwww that's 1/4 of my miles. Just because its older with minimal miles doesn't mean they should charge thattttttt much lmfao idk what id pay for it but its a gorgous car no doubt! Good luck with it mabey you can low ball the shit out of him
Nrw
I'd pay no more than 3500..
jcat
eh idk guys, 60k on a 98 is really not bad considering half of the 4gens out there are well above 180k on average.

I wouldn't pay 6500, but i'd consider 4500 or even 5k if it was reeeeeeeally squeaky clean.

Just be careful josh, those auto-tragics tend to have problems later on down the road.

What are you guys talking about? The blue book for a 98 with that mileage is probably right around $6000-6500 with 60k on it. shit, I paid $17k for mine with 50k back 9 years ago. lol.gif Would I pay $6500? No, but I wouldn't go in offering $3500. $5k-5500 is more like it. As far as the automatic goes, they're no more troublesome than any other auto out there. Keep up on your tranny service and don't drive like an asshole and you should be fine. Mine now has 133k on it and after 83k miles I couldn't suggest a better car. I love mine. I think it'd be a nice car for $5000-5500.

x2 I agree I cant see you getting that car at a dealership for 3500 go with 5500 cash and you'll more then likely walk out with the car.

Id figured 5500 would be what I would offer...Looks really nice...I love low mileaged cars and this one only has 60k

Ive seen these with 200k on them for $3500

exactly! take it for a good drive, make sure it runs smooth, shifts normal, check your fluids (especially the tranny, just to be safe) and make him an offer. If that was around when my wife needed a car, I would have gone to look at it. Good luck.

Yea Ive made offers on tons of cars and you dont want to insult the guy. You may say $5500 and he may say well the lowest I can get this thing is $5800 well hell you saved $700 off the original asking price bargaining is good but lowballing can cut the deal. good luck to ya sharp car.

Josh, I would still go in with a $5k offer and this is why. He probably picked this up at auction for around $3k. Private value is probably around $4500-5k. If he sold it for $5k, he'd still be making a good money on the car. If you go in too high, he'll eat you up. I personally would go in with the approach, "So you want $6500? That seems really high for a 98. I was thinking closer to $5k. How much room is there for us to make a deal on this car today?" This way you're not offering $5k, but then again you are. Just what I would do. smile.gif

...that is of course if it's worth it

lol.gif My famous saying, "I thought you wanted the car gone. It could be gone today, or it continue to sit here and rot." Some get mad, some say OK! lol.gif

Ehh I can't see myself paying that much for a bone stock 4th gen. If it was highly modded I'd consider it but bone stock nope.

Thats definitely a nice car but the price is high for it. You can pick up an 00-02 for that kind of cash with slightly higher mileage, there is one on CL "01" with 98k that they are asking 5800 for and it looks really clean. (navy blue with tan interior).

Good luck with whatever your decision is cuz.

right, but a 9 year old car with 11k per year, which likely saw the last 30-40 within 2 or 3 years....or a 12 year old car with 5k per year....for 800 dollars less...

cmon old man, you've bought and sold enough cars to see the logic there! couch.gif

I also know what I like....and no insult to anyone but I definitely like the style of the 00+ a little bit better than the 97-99. It's a matter of opinion here. To each his own I always say.
Nick?

Are the auto's different between the two gens? I know manuals are the same, only difference is the length of the shifter linkage (longer so it fits the interior better).

One thing I noticed. It seems people from mass prefer the 5th gen over the 4th while RI is opposite.

Just a observation I've made.

umm its for the wife, and thats an obvious no, plus we are family planning so a nice family vehicle like this one is what I'm looking for.

I'm actually looking for anything low mileage small to medium size, 4 door....She loves the imprezas, mazda 3, etc...
DuraMaxxD
i know a nice 00 in a garage ready for sale for the right $$$$ bwahahah and for tranny issues dam right i hada put a new one in myan and ijust hit 99k and i never drive it
DJ420
I agree with Ed.. worth $5k all day! Very LOW mileage, and great cars! I actually just picked up a decently clean 99, auto, with 154k for $1800. Tranny shifts beautifully. Its the 04 Maxima with the 5AT that you need to watch out for!
erty67
Not sure if you'd be interested in a SE-R/Spec-V, but I saw this and thought of you....
