Moser 9", 31 spline axles, 3.50 gears(junk), trac lock(junk), Spohn 22mm sway bar, Spohn sway bar mounts, and a set of LS1 brakes

Doesnt look pretty but for 800 bux who cares!

camarofreak72
did you go get it today?
Hyland33
clean it up and paint it
LSRengineering
Yeah I picked it up today with Neil.

Thats the plan Hyland. Probably gonna just do it black.

Can someone tell me what the tube coming out of the drivers side of the axle tube is for though? It's a 4th gen style rear.
Nrw
So much for waying only 200lbs....

"It's pretty heavy you might want to move the truck closer."

"nah we got it"

as we're leaving

"god damn that was fucking heavy"
BoostedDakota

LSRengineering
I was thinking like 200-300 not like 400-500 lol`

Thats what I was just told but it is a odd spot indeed. Maybe thats why it's got a tube?
BoostedDakota
my 8.8 has a tube too but its not on the axle. its on top
PSquare75
9" sometimes have the vent on one of the tubes when they have rear discs (Marks, etc). The house is just to extend it. Usually the fitting goes on top with the rear brake hose manifold fitting.

Thanks for the info P2

Nice find. Are you swapping gears out? Was this rear modified by someone for a 3rd or 4th gen or did it come all set up from a company already? I only ask because you may want to inspect the welds on it if someone did the the fab work themselves. Have the rear stripped down and then get it sandblasted.

Right now everything is just bolting in, I'll do gears and a spool in June. The rearend was bought from Spohn from Moser for a 4th gen. If it was someones custom fab work I wouldnt have touched it.

So the rear has a 4th gen width then correct? You will now be picking wheels out for a 4th gen which will be so much better. There are a lot more to pick from.
LSRengineering
Yeah thinking of stealing my dads 17" WS6 wheels lol
BoostedDakota
what was your stock rear?
LSRengineering
10 bolt, 3.73's, Posi from what I know. I'm poping the cover off today to verify
BoostedDakota
wanna sell it?
LSRengineering
I actually already have 2 buyers for it. Didnt post it up here cuz no one ever buys my junk lol
BoostedDakota
well if they fall through let me know
540s10
the vent hose is on the axle tube so it doesnt get gear lube slung out of it
LSRengineering
Yeah I was told to run it up by the frame or something. Needa get rid of all that ABS crap on there though!
