it's also the heat shield filter couplers. And maybe the plastic piece ontop of the radiator? idk I've never looked under the hood of a g8 haha

you'll def notice a difference when I had my GTO I installed a UNI intake straight from Australia and I noticed a healthy difference along with a nice growl

I hope so! I really like the look too. I figured I would buy this now and then get superchips over the summer and give it a decent tune.

nice! i always like the G8's. have you considered doing a Dyno tune in place of a superchip? the dyno tunes can be taylored to your current mods rather than a "canned" tune wich is for the most part a general setup.

Agreed! Slowhawk does great work around here and it'll help a lot more than the chip. I've seen those chips hurt cars before too.

my thought was with Fred from SMG, i havent done business with slowhawk. but ive seen what he did with Adams SS, and its pretty impressive.

Yes I have! Dyno tunes are always better than a canned tune like you said because every car is different. However the reason for superchips is because if the car needs to back to the dealer for any reason I will be able to put the stock tune back in. Trust me! I have looked into this a lot what it boils down to is that some dealers wouldn't catch on to a tune but some would. I really don't want to take a big chance with something like that and a few years from now I may have it sent to a Dyno shop to have them do it. I have read up on Superchips for awhile now and I have talked to other G8 owners and they have told me pretty much the same thing, You won't be disappointed with Superchips.

thats a short ram in teh picture isnt it? a cold air usualy goes down near a fender well and sucks in the cold air not the engine bay air...

The filter goes to the OEM location in a sealed box. Still gets cold air coming in through the fender/headlight area. So it's still a CAI but without the restricting baffles etc. of the stock piping.

Correct, The box that surrounds the air filter has a snout that goes down behind the fender. I got the intake in yesterday, Hopefully spring is right behind it!

I think you might me right my friend. Most people don't really care for the engine cover but I like it. They sell aluminum covers that are nice too, But I think painting my stock cover and fuse cover might be the way to go.

May 15 2010, 10:52 AM
I wouldn't do the aluminum. Even more of a heat holder haha. My thoughts were having the silver parts on the cover and the intake tubing painted the same as the body
