asked this on SPS Tuning... just trying to see if anyone is interested...
any one going to be doing any competing? with New England SPL??
im going to give it a shot. still trying to figure out my class.

I was gonna when I had my old car. Not anymore though.
give me info i am outta the loop lately but i gots 1 12's only getting about 3/4 power and hitting 110 dB i wanna play

well once i figure out how to understand the information i will! haha but the website is

All Classes:
-Competitors may only compete in one class per format, per vehicle.
-Competitors may compete with more than one vehicle, but NOT in the same class.
-Vehicle may be running.
-Hearing protection must be worn if remaining inside vehicle during competition.
-Competitors over 155 db's will not be allowed inside the vehicle during run.
-All windows and doors must be closed and sealed.
-Rear seats may be folded down if allowed by OEM design, but must be able to return to upright position after run is complete. (Amateur & Stock Only)
-No Speakers, ports or vents used for SPL are allowed ahead of the "B" pillar
-Competitors have 30 seconds to achieve their highest SPL reading
-iPods can be used
-Only one person allowed inside vehicle during run.
-There are no modifications allowed to the front of the vehicle (in front of "B" pillar) that are designed to increase the sound pressure levels i.e.(loading walls, modified consoles).
-All subwoofers 8" or larger not used as mids will be counted. (Proof Required)
-Any exceptions MUST be authorized by the Head Judge
-ALL batteries must be securely fastened down to prevent movement
-Competitors may only compete in the class for which their system qualifies.
-Competitors may NOT alter enclosures during event, exception is port tuning.
-Competitors may NOT share any part of their system, meaning each competitor must have their own enclosure, amps, subs and radio when registering for the event. The ONLY exception will be to replace a blown sub, or amp. Replacement MUST be an exact replacement, meaning the same model number and/or coil configuration as item being replaced.
Amateur Class:
This class is designed for the entry level non-sponsored competitor. This class is open to all Amateur competitors and members of car clubs. No test tones will be allowed in this class, music only. Strapped amplifiers, multicell batteries and BatCaps are not allowed. Refer to the chart for battery sizes. Enclosures may be above the window line, but no more than 3" above and No Walls are allowed. No CRX's, Panda's or Yugo's allowed in this class. Any competitor that has competed in more than 10 SPL competitons in NESPL or ANY other SPL organization during the previous season will have to move up to the Stock classes.
Stock:
Music and test tones are allowed.
Enclosures must remain below the window line. Enclosures must remain in the cargo area or behind the rear seat. Walls are NOT allowed. There is no limit on capacitors. Batteries are limited, refer to chart. 16 Volt systems are NOT allowed in this class. All factory panels must be installed in vehicle, no modifications allowed. Headunit must be in the factory location, NO podiums allowed.
Super Stock:
Music and Test Tones are allowed. Enclosures have no height limitations, and must remain behind the "B" pillar. Walls are allowed but not required and there is no limit on size and number of batteries. Seats may be removed if desired. 16 volt systems are allowed. Podiums are allowed and encouraged.
No Wall Open:
There is no limit of Subwoofers in No-Wall, Enclosure height limit will be the top of the front seat headrest. There are no power or sub limits. 16 volt systems are allowed. Seats may be removed if desired. This class is open to any size system, as long as the height requirement is not exceeded. A limit of 4 amplifiers, or 8 strapped amplifiers will be allowed. Podiums are allowed.

Amateur 1 1-280 sq"

Amateur 2 1-280 sq"
Power Limits 1001 to 2000 Watts
Stock 1 (1-180 sq")
Power Limited to 10,000 watts
Stock 2 (181-280 sq")

Super Stock 1 (1-510 sq")
Stock 3 (281+ sq")

**SPL Rules Chart**
*Classes are based on square inch of surface area of the subwoofers in each system. The Sq in Measurements are as follows: 8" = 50", 10" = 79", 12" = 113", 15" = 177", 18" = 254". Square subs are measured width X height.

i always wanted to enter a sound event...i run 2 10"subs with 1000w amp...did a 127 on a Db meter seats up..
could i run (Power Limits 1001 to 2000 Watts
Stock 1 (1-180 sq")) class ?

i was thinking about doing this. either im going to upgrade my 10" from an L5 to an L7 or go from a 10" to a 12". either way i want to do this over spring/summer. i went to a few. some nice cars, loud too.

im thinking about going to get my car metered see what im getting for a reading. and figure out what i can do. im trying to stay in the stock class. but i need to find another amp.
probably going with the hifonics 2600wRMS amp, but then im worried about what class i would be in with that much power.

yup world wide! they do it at the drag strip in NH a few times too on import nights
