just in time for the blizzard that never was! lol.gif i've had no 4x4 since before xmas cause of a bad front axle actuator... the threat of a baltimore-style snow storm finally propmted me to install the posi-lok manual locker kit i've been sitting on for some time now.... ... works pretty good... here's some pics of the finished install...

the cable under the dash, it mounts to the inner dash support and you have to drill a 9/16 hole in the firewall to run the cable through....

and here's what the rest of it looks like....

ehh looks like it can get stuck with frozen slush and snow

allways a fan of locking hubs, my 93 Toyota 4x4 had em and never had problems other then getting out of the truck to lock em...lol

yeah i guess it could, but it sits high enough under the truck though that not a lot of snow gets packed in around it, and the plastic covers underneath the bumper keep most of that stuff out anyway... the last storm we had it gave me no problems, it locked the axle just fine on the way home from work, and the next morning i unlocked it with no problems... i'd rather have this setup over the junk thermo-electric actuator any day.. they do make a cheaper kit that's just a pin that goes in the actuator housing with a cover for the end, but i heard a couple stories about people who've used it, and the pin broke and ruined the gears and bearings.

yeah i'm all for em too, the first thing i did to my old bronco was put manual hubs on it... the chevy doesn't have outer hubs tho, the axle locks internally like jeeps and dodges...
