Full Version: Curious Question For The Mustang Gurus
If I were to pick up a 2.3l mustang minus motor, how difficult is it to throw another 2.3l in it? I'm no auto mechanic, but learn fast.

never done the swap, but going from stock to stock should be fairly straightforward id think. my dad did a swap in my bonneville really quickly. 3.8 to 3.8

In general terms, I think it'd be easier than a v8. Easier to work around, only 1 exhaust pipe 
ridiculously easy....honestly if you get a complete engine to drop in you could have it in and running in half a days work.
Extremely simple. one out, one in. we have 5.0s in and out in 2 hours. haha
nice! I might pick up this car minus motor. I heard it's pretty basic to drop one back in, but I've never attempted it.

Easy and cheap to get a hold of a motor etc for them too.

close....sport four actually. A friend of mine said he found a complete sport4 stang, but the motor was pulled. I haven't seen it, nor do I know where it is. At the moment, it's all a myth. If I get a chance to check it out, I plan on taking it home given the info supplied here.

yup...i think monadnock has mini-stocks and roadrunners, which is basically a sport 4. now find me a car

little more info today. It's an 84 and it runs and drives. Motor has a knock. Going to see it hopefully Monday.
