As we all know, college costs a shitload of money. so needless to say i've been working my ass off to try and pay for it. i have a pretty nice chunk of money sitting for college right now that i was EXPECTING to pay for this year of school. Well it turns out umass FORGOT to add a wholeeee lotta financial aid to my account. Ready for how much it's going to cost me for the ENTIRE year?


































22 dollars!!!!!! 11 dollars a semester is what i owe hahahahaha.
Well on to why this is in the appearance and detailing section. Because i have a nice bit of money sitting around, i'm going to be fixing EVERYTHING that is wrong with the bird which is honestly quite a bit. (don't turn this into a "put the money into the chevelle" thread plz lol). well i plan on:

a) getting shocks and springs replaced (damn county st destroys my car)
- I'm thinking about getting it lowered about 2 inches. nothing too fancy just enough to make a difference
get the exhaust re-done because it is starting to rattle seeing as it's 12 years old now.
c) Getting entirely new brakes (calipers, brake pads, drums for rears)
d) CAI but not sure if i should cut out the spots in the front for it or have it just kinda sitting randomly. don't wanna haev it too low and next to puddles
e) get the interior re-fabricated because, let's face it, 12 years is a long time for a car to be in perfect condition.
f) I need to get the passenger side door and front panel repainted cuz they did a SHITTY job of doing it last time.
g) MIGHT look into t-tops since it's an easy conversion but i'm afraid of after-market headliners as they like to leak :/

i know i should be saving all this for after college, but once i'm outta college and actually have to start paying off the school loans, i'll be making REALLY good money as long as i get into the job i want to but it really shouldn't be a problem as i am pretty much bilingual right now. soo needless to say i have lots to do this winter

yea my slightly unreliable DD... it's been tricky for a little while... i forgot to mention i'm gettin the tranny fixed too...doesn't know which gear it wants to be in when i accelerate. i can't wait until my friggin garage gets done... it ws supposed to be done so f%&*in long ago and they haven't done sh!t to it. Once the lift gets in there you won't see me around very much unless my wireless router reaches to it... which it hopefully does

if you gotta go back to school next year save the money and spend what you make not what you saved

i did think about that...but the thing is, from here on out as long as i keep my grades up i should be getting the same financial aid every year unless my parents randomly hit the lottery... even if i do end up transferring like i want to, i would have to take out big ass loans anyway so another few grand isn't gunna do more damage. I'm not going to go crazy with it but i NEED this things to be fixed. the SES light has been on for over a year, the security light is on... the tranny skips, the struts SUCK... it's stuff that needs to be done so while i have the money i might as well do it.

Trust me you'll be much less stressed out if you have a few $$ in your bank account. I would say just fix what needs to be fixed (trans, shocks) and leave the mods till you're done with school. You can never know for sure what will happen down the road that you'll need a rainy day fund.

I know it sounds boring but you'd hate to have the worst case scenerio come up and you're not able to finish a semester due to funds, and have it be the fault of your car. I've seen it happen too many times! Just save the mods for when you're done with school, you'll have more money and more time.

haha once the fuckin garage is done i will... my fuckin grandfather stopped doing anything to do with the addition and the garage. I mean granted he is getting up there in age, but he built that friggin thing by hand. all it needs is lights and a cemented floor and its done.

and yea 22 bucks for the year is pretty nice lol. but i will have lots of loans to pay off outta college. that 11 dollars per semester is based off of the financial aid loans i got.
