I love all the E/T's being thrown around like they mean something lol.

Oh almighty CrisGT with the fastest car on the planet and the final word on everything, please enlighten us as to why E/Ts mean abolutly nothing. As far as I know they mean how fast the car does the 1/4 mile and the lower the time = the faster the car but. Please show me the error in my understanding.

E/T is more of how well the driver can launch the car or who could spend more money on tires and suspension.

Trap is comparing how fast the car is.

At least that is how alot of people look at it.

Idk, me personally, an ET is a measure of straight line QUICKNESS. Speed to me is top speed or even trap if you want to go that route, but in my opinion the fastest car is the one that wins in the corners

ET actually means it all. i dont know what the argument is about. elapsed time is how fast from start to finish. MPH means dick. you can have 2 cars that run 10.50, 1 being a stick and one being a auto and the stick car will have more mph

also if you spin outta the hole you will have more mph.

i agree with glenn. wheel speed = win. unless your in a 92 civic.

i didnt rad the whole article on th Mustang. but im sure it the same as the articles in Hot Rod. here is what you can get from Chevy for a lot cheaper, then build it for way less to go mych faster.

Well no shit a stick car will trap higher in the circumstance and ya sure a stick car is also a dyno queen what else?

All I meant was that just because someone can drop a couple g's into tires and suspension does not make that car faster. It allows it to launch out of the hole better. The way I was looking at it was ok you take a car that spins alot and runs a 13 @ 128. I know pretty out there but lets say he runs our of converter or lets off w.e SO then you take a car that hooks off the line and grabs 11.4 @ 122. So basically with E/T's the 11 second car is faster. Which if you go by that sure it is. But everyone that watched that race knows that the first car is in fact much faster.

Hows the 1st car faster if he lost the race? If I take my car and pull a 1.8 60' time and a 1.4 60' time the 1.8 will have more mile per hour with a slower ET. Making it slower. Trap speed doesnt mean dick if you cant drive the car, sure anyone can get a 130mph trap and run a 13 but to get a 128 and run a 11.8 or w/e is much FASTER.

exactly. Quick, in my mind, is your 60' and maybe even ET if extended to 1/4 mile. Or, how long it takes you to get around the track (road racing)

Fast, in my mind, is top speed, or the MPH you are able to hold through a corner. But, i suppose ET is also a measure of this.


THEREFORE! ET = best teller of a car being QUICK and FAST!

I think this here is what is causing arguments and people are failing to see this is a collector car, a car built for people with money, that have money to blow and don't think twice about it. You may also think a million dollar car is stupid but there are people that would pay that for a McLaren or an Enzo or a Reventon. Do you think these peopel are going out and racing these cars like they should be or are they drivoing them to the fanciest restaraunt they can think of, just to show up in said cars?

Can you build one for less? Sure! But is it the real deal? Nope.

Is a Yenko Maro replica as cool to you guys as the real deal? Nope....sure it looks cool and someone may have put the money into it but it's a fake. A replica. Never touched by the original builder that made this car what it was!

I just think its gay because it has no vin and cant be registered etc. Other than that its a cool car I guess.

You give too much credit to the driver. Its like your saying the driver made the car cut 1.4 60's not the tires or suspension. Shit if that's the case why get better tires when your car blows them off at 80 just swap drivers. tongue.gif Now don't get me wrong driver mod is a big mod BUT not the only. It doesn't take an pro stock driver to launch a car off the line when it has 345 slicks with a 400 auto and cut a good 60'

Try a 255 Drag radial lol It doesnt take a pro stock driver but I bet I let everyone on the site drive my car down the track if 90% of the people would blow the tires off and spin. They'll have a better trap speed but the ET will be slower. Drag racing is weird when it comes to that shit.

lmao I just noticed your sig I didn't mean you in particular about that I meant in general. My bad I should of seen your sig earlier hahaha. That why I said 345 slick because I was talking in general with big ass slicks.

I'm a fan of tripping the clock waiting a few seconds rolling out ripping it and then slowing down so you don't get kicked out for not having the required safety equipment lol.

a replica car is still a real deal. this car is USELESS for the money. that is my point. you cant do shit but race it. a yenko clone is not valued as high as a real yenko but its still worth more than a car you cant drive

There are many cars you "can't" drive. You are also missing the point that this car is being put out by Ford to a limited number of 50. 50 cars that are being sold to collectors, racers and others who can afford to do what they want with them. These cars were sold before they were even built so regardless what anyone here thinks they are worth the cash to folks and will be worth a lot more in the future.

Are you going to tell me a funny car, which cannot be driven on the street isn't worth the money because all it's good for is drag racing? I highly doubt it. Are you going to tell me that a Nascar car is useless and gay because it can't be driven n the street? Nope....


So what makes this specialty car any different?

no and yes. but now you comparing apples to oranges. a basic car (the cj500) with no vin for over 100k to me is just plain ridicules. its a factory built overpriced "racecar" more than a collector car kinda like the drag pack challenger. a funnycar, 1/4million dollar car that is more than twice the car, insane fast, people pay money to look at and people travel the world to see all for 125k more than a mustang. figure it out, weather or not its a show/collector/racecar its not worth anything near that money no matter what. its just not. but hey, theres a ass for every seat.
