So i installed my deck the other day and I take off from my house and start driving down main ave in warwick ... and the car shuts off. No power (electrical not mecanical) try to turn it back on and nothing! I'm freaking out blocking traffic ofcourselol
So I wired everything up but on the harness I bought for the stock harness it doesn't have a ground wire. Could that be why it happened? I'm ripping it appart tonight when I get out of work but my fellow audio people should have some sort of imput on why / how it happened.

I unplugged the deck and had no probs from there on I've been driving with no music for 3 days and a few prior to purchasing the deck. HELP! LOL

I'm hoping and thinking its because it didn't have a ground and was messing with something the car runs and drives as usual with out it plugged in and I don't want to drive it with it plugged in for fear of it suddenly shutting off again

Any thoughts?

Just try grounding it and see what happens?

I have no idea, I wouldn't think that not having a ground would do that but it definitely sounds like it may be your problem.

Why your car shut off....no clue. Ground? I ran a wire down the center console and bolted it to the front seat bolt when I swapped out my bose. dunno.gif

seems that we found the prob theeres wires you have to read into via the harness to figure out what they are the after market harness turned a ground into a remote and a audio shield aka ground into nothing we grounded both and took a long ride and nothing happened I guess it was the aftermarket adapters stupidity not to put a wire for something that's required! Lmfao

But now I have whine in ONLY THE FRONT speakers and that's the one where there's no ground off that lol ill keep everyone posted my cars appart now and were doing more shit
Tap
you have a ground loop i am sorry dan i am to tired ot get into how to fix it now try a better ground for the radio that may work or you may have damaged the radio causing a ground loop
