Day off from school due to flooding trying to fix my truck. Alternator is not charging the battery and the alternator is Brand new and still the issue occurs. The alternator has has 1 wire that connects to the battery and another wire that is a plastic clip. I am aware of how the 2 wire alternators work but my clip just has one. I read somewhere that this meant the alternator was internally grounded. My question is there juice suppose to be running through that wire. I tested the wire with a multi meter and got no juice running through it? I thought that wire is the one connected to youre ignition to turn the alternator on?

Found my answer also that I think I fried the Voltage Regulator LMAO I ran a full 12 volts into that wire instead of a resistor. Alternators going back to the parts store because it didnt work cough cough and I am off to fix the issue.
