is there any way to turn the governor off on my 2004 nissan altima?? its a 2.5l 4 banger

any help would be great....

I don't know much about the altima ECU's but did one trim level come without a limiter? Because the GXE 4th gen maximas had a limiter, 110 iirc, while everything else didn't.

I also think there was a way of bypassing it with a resistor or something. I don't know thou but I do know it causes a CEL.

Its in the ECM programmaing you would need a tune or something of that sort..

what are you saying about trim levels? im kinda lost on that sorry.

Trim levels. My car for example is a SE. GXE's had a limiter. GLE didn't have a limiter like the SE.


CEL: Check Engine Light also called SES light (service engine soon)

I loooked online found a place that will do it but only v6 models they dont offer for the 4 bangers

and usually reflashes cost cpl hundred beans IMO not worth it to get an extra 10-20MPH.. bc @ that point you will be drag limited...

My tuner was $365.00. Simple to use and you are able to save stock settings. You may be able to find something similar.

toyota did mine for 57 bucks over a year ago. maybe nissan is the same?
