I recentlly changed the cam in my race car I am trying to reassemble and The Harmonic balancer does not seem to be sitting right. it gets going when I try to press it in but then it stops short. If you look down the hole there is still a gap. Is the balancer suppose to be flush with the crank? the keyway appears to be lined up? any help would be greatly appreciated I got practice Saturday and need to get this thing together ASAP !!!! Thanks

Theres a small gap sometimes. If you use a balancer install too(never beat it on) it'll only go on so much before you cant turn the tool again. A good thing to do is to take som wd40 and clean the inside of the balancer real good so it slides on nicely.

I've always got it on as much as I can by hand and then used the bolt to finish it peepwallA.gif

Thats all the tool really does, only benefit to the tool is you can screw it in 1st and get to use more threads for better strength without stripping things.

well went to turn over engine by harmonic dampner bolt and realized it just spins WTF I feal like such a idiot. I believe I may of pulled the threads out of the crank. WTF Taking it to school tomorrow to see what we can do. Worst case I do have a spare crank with new bearings if its screwed up pull the motor remove the pan and fix it what else to do !!!!
