Hey folks it is that time of year again and i have a surplus of sound deadener still. Anyone who is interested let me know prices start at $100 to spray your trunk if you remove all the plastics $150 if i do it ( please ask about specific cars as some are more different than others) any thing more than just the trunk pm me and we will work out a price on it at a per hour rate.

A sound control system typically consists of vibration dampers, sound barriers, sound absorbers and gasketing products. The Cascade Audio Engineering line of VBLOK sound control products are modular by design and may be installed in stages. The benefit is in the installation time saved and the minimal amount of weight added to the vehicle.

The addition of an automotive noise control system will not only produce a quieter, more comfortable ride but it will also dramatically improve the performance of automotive audio systems. This means you can use less power to achieve sonic perfection once thought impossible.

When it comes to vibration damping sheet materials, there simply is nothing better than VB2 (.040) and VB2HD (.070). VB2 and VB2HD are lightweight, highly formable, vinyl based damping sheets that contain a silica mica and ceramic load incorporated to convert panel resonance (vibration) into low level heat through friction. The VB2 products are odorless and offer excellent cosmetic integration characteristics and may even be painted to achieve the ultimate in OEM appearance.

When applied to the surface directly behind the door trim panel as a replacement for the flimsy, plastic vapor barrier, the VB2 products perform a variety of functions.

Primarily, they act as a viscoelastic vibration damper lowering the resonant frequency of the sheetmetal, plastic or fiberglass substrate. VB2 and VB2HD will effectively turn the doors into a much more solid enclosure instead of the "tin can" that comes from the auto manufacturer. The products feature an extremely aggressive, modified acrylic adhesive that is stable to 250°. VB2 and VB2HD are also Class A fire rated making them acceptable for commercial and residential applications.

Secondly, because the materials are much more dense than flimsy plastic, they act as a vapor barrier and airborne sound barrier when applied over the access holes leading into a door cavity. Low to mid and high frequency road noise may enter a passenger compartment through the doors as well as back wave energy from door mounted speaker systems. The VB2 products perform extremely well in this application to block these irritating road noise and prevent acoustical short circuits.

Professional automotive builders worldwide choose VB2 and VB2HD for the lightweight, high performance characteristics as well as for the extremely clean look of the finished installation.

So is this a sheet that covers the door? I deadened the whole car except for the doors, and they make noise..especially with that sub.

I need to tie up some loose ends on my windows, but once that gets done i'll be in touch....

Can this stuff be used under the hood? Looks like it would look nice as a replacement for the stock underhood covering....

It's a spray on coating it can be used basically anywhere that you can spray it

few things....
1. didnt know cascade audio made sound deadening.... thats cool but ssems like everyone is hoping on the band-wagon...
2. how much you getting paid for this?
3. if those are pictures of what you have done, you have done a good job!

i think constraint layer dampers would...sell... better smile.gif

No those are not pics of what i have done. I have been doing the cascade spray on for stuff for about 5 years now and love it for a few reasons the major one is the weight difference. i can do a trunk with about 3 lb's as opposed to like 30-50lbs of roll on sound deadener.
The major effect of sound dampener is to change the resonance frequency of the material it is placed on this being a spry pulls the material close together and thus changes the resonance frequency of the material and since there are little to no gaps it holds the sound in (my opinion is better than roll on sheets)

I have all the materials at my house as i used to own a local shop. So for most jobs that are not just a trunk it is case by case basis

The rear dash and the plate rattle on the GP. Would this fix it?
Tap
depends what part of the rear dash and the plate most likely not that i useually will add roll on to as it will act as a sight cushion between the car and the plate
