Ok, on my way home from work tonight I'm coming up route 4 towards north kingstown. I'm moving through traffic like I usually do a bit above the speed limit, no big deal. Get to one of the lights, and I'm behind a black Yukon, RI license plate '1' with 2 anchor badges...i think cool, cruising home with the governor.
Going up route 4, I was kind of close to the truck the whole way. Maintained 2 seconds but at times he slowed down and I got closer. Traffic always in the next lane so I couldn't pass, and we were already doing 60-65 in a 55, and as notorious as rt4 is i didn't want to push it.
Same thing on 95. Pretty much stay right with him, then he starts to speed up and pulls away. Get to the 295 split and I'm back with him. Traffic in the right lane, doing about 70 in a 65. Normally, I do about 80 on 295 coming home. Tonight, partially because I wanted to make sure I got home in time to get dinner before everything closes at 10.
Get past warwick mall and I see an opening. Dunno if I thought the governor would be driving, or a private driver or what, but I decide to pass him and speed up to my normal 80. Change lanes right and start to increase to 80.
The fucking yukon speeds up and stays right with me. I think "weird..." so I had to touch it a bit to like 83 to get past. The yukon swings in behind me and BAM, reds and blues in my mirror. FUCK.
Long winded I know. Note to self: Governor's yukon is driven by a state trooper, and, given the opportunity; he will pull you over in it. Thankfully, the trooper (though pissed) was cool about it, and I honestly felt like he was more concerned with my well being than anything else. He let me off with a warning and a 'slow down and make it home'. Nearly shit my pants though.
It just made me wonder after the fact....what the FUCK was going through my head? Had I known the governor was in the vehicle or that a trooper was driving I would never have pulled such a move, but what made me think that a trooper WASNT driving or that the governor WASNT in the car? I'm not a stupid person I dont think, but it was such a bonehead move that I just cant wrap my head around.

i'm pretty sure I knew it, but for some reason idk i must have thought he had private security or idk. Had it clicked in my mind that it was probably a trooper driving I wouldn't have done it.

i thought it was a story about how u hit him, but yes statie drive the grov because "if theres ever an emergency he has to get there fast and he doesn't have to skills to drive properly at high speed, and the statie is there for protection also" i used to question why the grov couldn't drive himself when i worked at the state house

haha you only do 65 on rt4? thats probably the one place you can do 80 (and still have a cop pass you/and not worry about getting pulled over). but you should of made it interesting and tried to run. im sure that would of made the news!

rt4 is one of the most highly patrolled highways by state troopers in the state, with 95n from rt4 to 295 in a close second.
i had no doubt I could easily outrun the yukon, it was the motorola i was afraid of.

Would have been even more interesting if he would have tailed him then pulled up beside him, then dropped back behind him.

damn, that sucks dude. on my way home from the track lastnight, rt 95 there was a new style honda accord in the breakdown lane. saw it way ahead of us. as we were catching up to it, it started driving in the breakdown lane picking up speed. when it was about 65-70, strobes came on and he pulled out into traffic to bust someone. holy shit!!! hondas now!
