Me josh and Marcarita were hanging out last night and I brought this up. Figured I'd share this article explaining it.

MARCARITA! Neil you are a genius.

problem is, once you adjust the coil over you changed spring rate. which means all of this is pointless because as soon as to suspension moves from its 'parked' position, the balance is now off again.. it also only works if there is no sway bar, and the car stays 100% level while turning.

the proper way to do this is do get identical springs, and add balast until the weights match.

That is true if your using a progressive rate spring. Majority of coilovers use linear rate springs. Corner balancing isn't about making drastic changes to the weight balance, just making sure everything is even.

That's how I feel as well, but again, who runs identical springs? My eyes kinda glazed over with this article as I don't have any vehicles with suspension like this regardless. A wise man by the name of Harry Hogg once taught me " When the rear end's loose, the car's fast. Loose is fast, and on the edge you're out of control."

sort of true, if the coilover uses the spring as a height adjustment. There are coilover systems that utilize a threaded shock body as height adjustment in the form of shortening/lengthening the shock (increasing or decreasing the distance between the upper and lower mounts obviously) that don't affect the spring.
