That makes no sense. I'm not here to stary a fight or bash or sony guess just want to make the straight. The next. So what ur saying is that microsoft a company that could buy sony twice won't be able to make a system fpr the next gen console era that can't surpass there current model or ps3 for that matter. That's what next gen means to go higher than there last models. Sony isn't the only company out there that can make a successfull gaming system. no offence but I can't stand when people bash on one system or another when they don't know what it is they are talking about xbox will be around ur going to see apple through there name into the console world. I like some thing about the ps3 I don't like things about the xbox. I'm not here to start a fight or a fanboy war cus well I don't care lol. I am bored at work and that comment just blew my mind

im not a fanboy, i own both consoles. but havent touched my xbox since i got my ps3. It has no purpose to me until gears of war 3 comes out. Thats the only xbox exclusive game worth playing, for me.

its just a fact that games have been limited because of the DVDs storage capacity. Developers have said this, not me. They took a gamble with HDDVD and it didnt pay off. I hope that they can get blu ray or whatever is better than blu ray when the new consoles come out. It would be good for all of gaming. Maybe I shoudl have clarified more.


Apple has been rumored to be coming out with a console for a few years now and nothing has materialized.

Sega is making a new console, that should be itneresting.

As he mentioned, he wasn't bashing the xbox, its just a simple matter of capacity. Way back when 360 and ps3 were coming out, each company (Microsoft/Sony) picked a media, (HDDVD/BluRay, respectively). Whichever media caught on with the general public would determine which console was the "winner". Because BluRay is the new HD Media storage type, Sony's product caught on, and has a much better future. The capacity for Sony's unit to grow is much larger than Microsoft's. Unless they come out with a new media device that's even better, or find a way to get a piece of the bluray pie, they're going to be limited in what they can do.

Just think back to when sega went out of the console world, it was because they gambled and lost on what media device would be used in the future. Obviously Microsoft has more flexibility than Sega did, but they have to overcome their mistake nonetheless.

It has nothing to do with what is better as an system, it has to do with the capacities of the medias employed to disseminate the games. Sony's platform for game creation is much higher at this point in time, regardless of how one feels about the system.

i feel like next generation games and consoles wont use disks at all at some point, solid state and flash have gotten so cheap lately, i would be surprised if all games are either downloaded, or come on SD cards. that might be the step for the next next gen but i think it should be coming in the future. i don't even remember the last time i used a DVD in my laptop. i have over 1000 movies stored digitally on my hard drive, and about 100 of those are 1080P HD. plus all of my consoles and computers can access those movies from my server.
