$950 parts and install.

Timing belt, water pump, tensioner pully

Plus valve cover gasket.

To much? Idk. I called just one dealership, I'll call a few more tomorrow. I just cant't do that kind of job this is my DD and I need it done and drivable with as little down time as possible. If you know anywhere that can do this and for less feel free to let me know.

Bonus question if I tell a dealership I want all the replaced parts will they give them to me.
jcat
they probably won't give you the removed parts. they usually just junk them.

As for the price, that seems appx right for a dealership.

I'd look into some independent mechanics first. It's definitely not a dealership only service. Try Tech 1 automotive in either cranston or North Prov, or Dean's international auto in johnston. Rebello's automotive in warwick is another good one. Dean's and Rebello are run by former inskip 'A' techs and service mgrs.

At least the dealer will have it done for you ASAP. Also if they fuck it up, It's on their shoulders.

yah id say thats a fair price. and they have abigger rep to uphold if they screw it up, rather than joe shit the rag man doing it

fuck that shit...I had a cheap mecanic do CJ's on the passat when she got it and it cost me less than half of that altogether

a buddy of mine is a certified Chrysler tech..if your interested i can ask him how much/if he would even want to do it...hes usually pretty good at getting a significant price cut over dealerships

edit: nm, i think the thought of doing a timing belt on an SRT4 scared him...a more direct quote right from him

"let me put it this way, its easier to stick your dry hand up a 10 year olds ass than it is getting your hand between the frame rail and the side of the engine on that car"

he says its a really good deal from the dealership tho

false. In the state of Rhode Island if you ask for your old removed parts they have to give them back to you. I dont know how many time Ive had to search around for worthless parts because a customer wanted the old parts back.

Holy hell..

I figure I'm gonna do it through them. that price is with the Valve cover gasket as well, i have leaking spark plug ring.

Also if your tech friend is interested, I have a small clutch issue. If it gets worse or i need some help please let him know I'll probably be in touch.

Did Bruce do his own? Or did he send it out? I forget.
Mr.Srtee
Getting it done at Metro Chrysler Jeep Dodge

Lower price and I talked them into 20% off. So i added the slave cylinder which was what i believe was wrong with my clutch.

Can I ask the dealer for the old parts, i think there was a thread on this but i can't remember where and i can't find it on search.

I want to make sure they changed everything i asked for.

if the slave was bad it'd leak fluid and the pedal would stay at the floor.
J Kellz
yes, you can ask for the parts from the dealership after its been installed
Mr.Srtee
I'm pretty sure it was leaking. But why else would it have felt the way it did. Went into gear fine the pedal just felt shitty like a stretching spring. Not smooth at all. Its getting done so I guess ill find out after its done. I'm sure they will call me and tell me I need a bunch of other shit anyway.
DR. GONZO
the easiest way to do a timing belt on that car really is to support the motor and completely remove the motor mounts so i'd say that your gettin a fair price
