Before I get asked 1001 questions.........Yes this is located in your dropdown menu under 'Games'

1. Picking a Race The first thing you will want to do is pick a race. When you click on the army system link:

http://www.reklessracing.net/forums/index.php?autocom=army

You will see the words pick your race below as a sub heading of the table with the heading Army system. To the right of where you see pick your race you will see a drop down box where you can click to on to select your race. Bellow you will see the bonuses of each race. If you are going to play the game a lot by far the best bonus is income bonus. However, if you are making the most money you are going to get robed the most and if you can’t spend the money before getting attacked you are going to lose it and the income bonuses will be no good to you. Force bonus is the combination of your attack and defense bonus.

If you spend your money equally between attack and deference this will overall benefit you more then specializing in attack or defense. However, being an attack specialist can help break though the defenses of the richest players and being a defense specialists can allow you to better protect you money so you don’t have to be playing all the time to spend your money. Covert bonuses such as spy and sentry are useful because they are weighted the most in the ranking scheme. A strong spy bonus can allow you to sabotage, however being able to sabotage might not be useful later in the game if possible at all.

2. Playing the game The goal of the game is to build a strong army in all four areas. Attack, defense, spy and sentry. The most well rounded army will probably be ranked the highest but might not make the most money. You can buy spy and spy tools so you can see other peoples money and if you can beat them or you can attack with one attack turn and get the same effect. However, this will waste more attack turns and it will make it hard to find the people with the most money to attack.

If you win an attack you will take about between 50-100 percent of the persons money provided your army size is the same size or smaller then them. You will win the attack more often then you lose the attack if your attack bonus is bigger then their defense bonus. However, if the bonuses are close there is know guarantee as there is a random component. To increase your attack bonus, by more weapons, to increase your defense bonus buy more armor. You can by your armor by clicking on the link that says armory, filling out the form and pressing the button that says done.

Growing an army and making money

In order to build a strong army you are going to need soldiers, troops, weapons and tools. To buy those tools you are going to need money. You get $50 per soldier and $20 per mercenary. To get more soldiers you have to increase your unit production. If you click on the link that says training:

http://www.reklessracing.net/forums/index....p;CODE=training

You will see a link that table titled upgrade you unit production. If you click on this button it will increase the amount of soldiers you get every time interval by one. Currently soldiers are updated every 10 hours. Another approach to getting money is by attacking people. If you need more soldiers you can buy mercenaries:

http://www.reklessracing.net/forums/index....;CODE=mercanery

You may not want to buy to many mercenaries early as a large army size can hurt you ability to make money if certain settings are in place. For instance there is a setting that can be set where you get less money for attacking smaller armies. There is also another setting that sets the maximum and minimum size of the army you can attack. Often in army games you can only attack armies 3 times or 1/3 your size. At moment its set to size 3.

Some TIPS
- Save about 20-30k worth of turns as it will help you out.
- Max out your fortification and Serge tech
- Max out convert and unit production
- Buy mercenaries don't touch your troops they give you the money you need every 10 hours.

Starting Fresh

If your just starting out your not going to get much so just buy the the first 3 sets of cheap weapons and armor, don't both with spy and sentry stuff because it won't help you.

Rank in offense and defense tells you how far you can attack in the ranking system successfully without losing, that's where you make most of your money right there that's where your mercenaries come handy, they provide your power in offense and defense. As I said early your troops is what make yours money per 10 hours, that's where the max unit production comes in. Never put your troops in the spy or sentry because you won't make any money with them their until your in the top 50 then start moving some of your troops their so you can have a good idea what your opponents are in power and defense when you spy and sabotage if you want to.

Now when you get higher in ranks that's when you start selling off your cheap weapons and armor for better ones. Once your in the top 50 that's when you want to invest in top 5 weapons and armor and then slowly work on your spy and sentry. By then you should have been completely maxed out in all the tech and unit productions.

Then once your in the top 35 that's when you want nothing but elven armor and elven longsword, to maximize your chances to get big money stay in the 150,000 total in troops and mercenaries, and once your in the top ten you want extreme power and defense.

Most Common Mistakes

1. Avoid Getting Farmed Spend your money often, because if you hoard too much, this makes you a prime target for potential attackers, and then you will lose most of that money, if you're unable to properly defend.

2. More Soldiers, More Money The more soldiers you have in your army determines how much money you make every update. This means you should try to raise your number of units produced, so you'll have a bigger army, which means more money.

3. Spy Before Attacking Spying is useful when you want to know how successful your attack will be. You can send spies to your enemy's base to determine different statistics on that enemy, and then base your decision on that. Be careful of high-sentry players though, because they will be able to catch and execute your spies.

4. Buy Bigger Weapons Try to save money to buy bigger weapons, instead of just buying lots of little ones. This will save you lots of money. For example, you can get 100 defense by buying 10 Leather Helmets for 25,000, but you can get the same amount of defense by buying one Scale Mail for 12,500, which would cost half as much. Be careful though, because if you save too much up, you might get "farmed" by a stronger player.

5. Repair Is Cheaper With Bigger Weapons Repair cost is lower for the more expensive items. This is another reason why you want to save for the best weapon instead of the lower grade ones.

6. Use 15 Turns More often than not, you get the most money from full 15-turns attack.

7. Attack Bigger Armies More often than not, you get less money if your attacking army size (attack specialists + untrained soldiers + trained attack mercenaries + untrained mercenaries) is larger than the defending army size (defense specialists + untrained soldiers + trained attack mercenaries + untrained mercenaries).

8. Attackers Suffer Attacking armies tend to suffer more casualties than defending armies.

9. Banking The point is the way the game is now there are many ways to play. You can raise your unit production early (look under training) so you get a lot of money each turn. You can keep your unit production in the zero to 2 range so you can keep your army small by training spies and sentries and build up attack turns. You can try to save money by building up your defenses, keep your army small or spending it as much as possible. If you spend it on weapons and armor the weapons and armor can get damaged. If you spend it on spy tools you will get less money back if you want to sell it so you can by weapons and armor later.

10. Risk You can minimize your risk by not buying a lot of weapons or if you buy weapons buy weapons and armor buy the more expensive ones. Expensive weapons and armor are much harder to sabotage. Instead spend your money on upgrades (unit production, siege technology and fortifications) and spy tools.

11. Training You can train attack soldiers, defense soldiers spies and mercenaries. It doesn’t seem like a good idea to train much more of any of these then you have weapons for them. However, you may want to train extra spies and sentries if you want to keep your army small. To check this look at your attack and defense bonus before and after training and attack soldier. For instance say you train an attack soldier and you don’t have weapons for him/her. You will notice that the amount you gain in attack bonus is less then the amount you lose in defense bonus. Thus it is a waste of money, and the only reason to do so would be to keep your rank artificially low so less people will attack you and so you can gain more money on attacks. If you want trained soldiers by trained mercenaries instead.

12. Sabotaging Sabotaging is the key to the middle game. Early on you want weapons so that you can take money but you may reach a point where you cannot beat the defenses of the people higher up people. If you have the right mix of covert skills, spy tools and number of spies you can catch them off guard. The best time to Sabotage is in the evening because people tend in the evening to build up there defense in the hops of protecting there money while they sleep and to be able to sell them in the morning if needed to get there next upgrade.

To sabotage effectively you need high covert skills and 5-7 and a good number of spies tools 10-20 preferably stealth horses but I have a mix. With a spy bonus of 50,000 you can sabotage weapons and armor in the strength range 750-1000, with a spy bonus of 40,000 you can sabotage weapons in the range of 450-750. It does depend a little on the sentry bonus of the other player.

13. The End Game Once the Game progress far enough players will make enough money to be able to buy a two handed sword every 10 hours. At this point it will be difficulty to keep your spy bonus double other players covert bonus because there will be know more upgrades and once the unit production is maxed out the money increases linearly while it becomes exponentially harder to double a bonus. At this point in the game the key is to have lots of soldiers. You can protect your soldiers by buying mercenaries. You can keep your army as small as possible buy training as many soldiers to spies as you can. Remember with covert of 10 spies and solders give the same amount of money every update. If you make a lot more money then everyone else you run the rick of falling into the restrictions on the army size that can be attacked. Consider moving your self out of attacking range buy buying a lot of mercenaries. This will make it extremely difficult for new players to touch you whether they team up or not.

14. Don't Overproduce Each soldier/spy/sentry can only hold one weapon/tool, additional weapons/tools will not be counted. Don't overproduce weapons without the people to hold them.

15. Reset & Start Over There is a link on your Base section that allows you to perform a Reset to your current army. This allows you to start from scratch, and to choose another race if you want. Now, why do you even want to reset, some might ask? There may be a few reason:

-- The race you choose does not suits you. Realized you prefer the bonus of another race? You'll have to reset.

-- You have upgraded something and this has affected your strategy. For example, you planned to be an attacking army, only you spent a lot on unit production, making your army size too large. Since unit production upgrade is one of those thing you can get rid or lower down, you'll have to reset.

-- Getting a fresh start. If this is your first time playing the army system, chances are you may have made some mistakes from time to time. Heck, even veterans make mistakes as things didn't quite go as planned. What do you do then? If you totally do not like the way things are with your current army, just reset.

Of course, think hard before resetting, since you'll not be able to undo it later.

16. DO NOT CHEAT! Yes, the army system is buggy. Yes, sometimes certain formula is unfair. And yes, it's only a game. However, many members like the Army System because it is fun, and we are generally nice to each other. Some members might have being around for quite some time, and invested a lot of time into the game.

So, imagine how some of us would feel when a new member came out of nowhere and start cheating so much that the Army System has to be restarted, over and over again. It ruins the game. Period. If you want to cheat, please go and set up your own Army System, invite people to join your Army System, and cheat all you want in your own Army System.

----originally written up by N.U. on another forum, thanks again to him for taking the time to write this up.

By The Way, if I nail anyone cheating, like a person using 2 accounts, I will ban you from the game.

oh yeah, when you post and start threads, you make money as well. However, the point system that is with the army game is not related to the point system on the board, it's separate points. I still have a plan for those set of points.
Get the point? (yeah i know that was wicked bad)
05sonic3valve
question, cuz i dont see anything about it in your post, when upgrading fortification, whats the (+25%) mean
Tap
I am lost at this thing how do you get more attack points?
Orinackra

how do you get mercenaries?

you buy them? You also have to wait for them to be available to also buy them.

oh yes, there's a set number of mercenaries, if someone bought them out, you have to wait for the game to replenish them as well.
PSquare75
Christ now I'll never get anything done at work.

All points are linked now, if you lost points, I'm sorry. smile.gif

That would be a successful sabotoge from somebody. Plus people do get killed in the battlefield, they all don't live (nvm perhaps somebody got killed in the spy mission). So go after the strongest Spy/Sentry unit.

And remember here folks, it's only a game......
erty67
how do you get turns?
Orinackra
depending on your race, you get turns per period of time. I have zombies, and I guess zombies get 1 turn per half hour.
Matt

LS6rally

DJSpellBound
once you start getting bigger in size, you also start killing people in battle
Hyland33
