SO I had my 3.55's installed a couple weeks ago and they make alot of noise. Anything over 50 and it whine's like an Eaton. Not nearly as loud but the same tone. Just cruising and maintaining speed, not accelerating it howls, and it has a very slight howl decelerating in neutral. I was told that they are gonna make noise cause it's a higher ration that stock but I don't beleive that. Maybe it's true but It just doesn't seem right. The guy that did it said he didn't hear anything when he took it for a test drive but it's annoying the shit out of me. I'd have the guy that did it recheck everything but he lives in NJ so I just want someone else to look at it and try to quiet it down. I didn't pay the guy anything to put them in, it's just frustrating as hell.

I'm just so pissed. Everytime I spend money to fix one thing, something else goes wrong. I'm never gonna get my heads.

It shouldnt be that expensive. I think he usually does full gear installs for 125-150

i've done gears on my Nova. 3.73 richmonds, and you can ask anyone whos been in the car, no whine at all. dont believe the high ratio is causing it. i'd be willing to do it, i just dont have all the tools. you need a dial indicator to measure the backlack when you install/shim the ring gear.

3.5s should be quiet as anything IMO... My Cougar and truck are silent.
