DETROIT — Chevrolet released several photos of its 2010 Camaro SS on Thursday, two months after the official unveiling of the new Camaro. The front end and the SS badges appear to be the main visual differences from the standard model.

The 2010 Camaro SS will get a choice of GM's LS3 6.2-liter V8 engine that makes 422 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and the L99 6.2-liter V8 making 400 hp with a six-speed automatic transmission. Those numbers compare with the standard Camaro's 3.6-liter V6 making 300 hp.

The 2010 Camaro is built on GM's global rear-wheel-drive platform developed in Australia by GM's Holden affiliate. Chevrolet didn't release any additional information about the SS with the photos.

i don't like it at all to e honest. I liked Bumble Bee in transformers but hate every other car I've seen. I think dodge did the untimate job with the true to life Challenger. The Camaro just looks cheesey to me for some reason.

P.S. The ass end of the Camaro is fugly, maybe thats the biggest reason i dislike the car. But hey to each their own.

id be happy if ford went really retro and just started stamping out 69 boss 429's again.

Hmm, I kinda like it

I much prefer the front on this car than the concept. It looks like they opened up the grille a bit which makes the rest of the car look less fat, and that's always a good thing. The 4x4 stance will have to change but that's an easy fix. Overall I like it but silver is still an awful color to show off a car's shape.

A deep blue will suit this car just fine.

I'm impressed by the V6, 300hp is not far off from what they were getting from the original LS1!

Let's see if it weighs less than 3800lbs and costs under $30k. My guess is it will far exceed both.

honestly i liked the Maro when I first saw it but it's losing it's edge, like someone else said I liked BumbleBee but everything else since then has been kinda losing its luster.

it look to plain to be an SS first of all and the Z28 is going to be the supercharged model of the SS so the Z28 is more powerful of the 2 how gay is that. it has not been like that since it was ever made. i am a huge gm fan but gm really need to think this over
