electrolytes are required for electrical communications between brain cells. Water is what keeps the electrolytes dissolved and moving for proper brain functions.
water is also used to cool the body and a side effect is loss of electrolytes as well as water.
in any case,no matter what context you use the word "dehydrate" it means water depletion.
"hydrate" means...with water.
"dehydrate" means...without water.
