Don't electrolytes hydrate you? Like when you're dehydrated, you're suppose to drink Gatorade or Pedialyte? It isn't the actual water that hydrates you, it's the minerals in it. I didn't read the link...this is my guess. Straight up water is important for your cell membranes though. Peace out.

well aparently there are 3 type of dehydration. one of water, one of electrolytes and sodium, and the last is lack of water and electrolytes... but that ruling is pushing ittt. and i dont really think ive seen water companies with advertisments...

electrolytes are required for electrical communications between brain cells. Water is what keeps the electrolytes dissolved and moving for proper brain functions.
water is also used to cool the body and a side effect is loss of electrolytes as well as water.
in any case,no matter what context you use the word "dehydrate" it means water depletion.
"hydrate" means...with water.
"dehydrate" means...without water.

lol!! I know what they are trying to say,but you would think those European bastids with their proper use of the language could just add words to describe what they mean instead of redefining words.
They should just say that water is not the only thing the body needs replenished when sweating.
