Full Version: Taurus Sho..... Fords Mks

Ford's getting their version of the MKS, with less luxury, in the form of the 2010 Ford SHO.

The 2010 Taurus is getting the twin turbo EcoBoost, packing 340-350HP, AWD, and the suspension from the MKS. It probably wouldn't be as luxurious as the MKS, but it might be easier on the wallet.

I'd definitely go with a 2010 Taurus SHO over a 2010 Buick Lacrosse

if only they bring back the SHO name... id buy one
Stangman_NB
fuck yeah!

put a yamaha motor and manual trans then it might grab my attention. BUT it would be cool to see the SHO back. Fords first, back in 1989, attempt at attacking BMW sales.
DB Duramax
Nah, the SHO's were lots of problems!! Hopefully this one is better.
hsssss
i wonder if Ford is doing like Pontaic with the G8?...It looks like the Ford BA Falcon (Aus)

DB Duramax
I kinda like that car.

they were problems if the owner was a fucktard and couldn't maintain it. They were high matinence cars and alot of people failed to see that and then blamed the manufacturer that the car was crap. Even though scheduled matinence and what needed to be done was clearly listed.

Yeah probably right but, most average people who bought the car ended up with lots of headaches due to their quirkiness. I thought they were cool cars but I never knew anyone who had goodluck with one. Its a Yamaha outboard motor!!!!!

Jesse's brother had an 89 that was pretty cool.

because they didn't maintian it the way it should have been. I had bad luck with mine but I had almost all the quirks fixed since the p/o rode it hard and put it away wet. They aren't cheap cars to own but boy when those secondaries open at 4k rpm. Drool.gif

amen brother....i loved all 3 of mine...even if one was a turd gen
Ronin
What ford did to SHO owners with the 3rd gen was awful. The cam gears would fall off and the motor would eat itself. The factory blamed abuse and didnt warranty anyone...

The cars had such a bad rep, i couldnt give mine away.

thats why i didn't mention the third gen in my rants. They're kinda the red headed step child stickpoke.gif
dosmoney
but the 3rd gen sounded ssooo good with an exhaust.
LSRengineering
Too much maintainance for a taurus..
Mk3 Supra
I've always liked the SHO, they were cool cars, hopefully they still have the badass intentions.
MeanMachine
I liked the SHO too....It came down to that and my SVTC when i was buying a car. I hope this car makes it in to production. would be really sweet!

how are you not impressed with 350hp V6 AWD..... for a taurus? it'll eat stangs

either it will be de-tuned or the stang will get gobs more hp than it. ford doesnt let anything compete with the stang.
Sully
ummmm IDK The MKS will eat it! The mark viii had a cross between the cobra and mach 1 motor that hauled pretty well
fordfanatic
the mark motor was a 32v 4.6, but again de-tuned.

impressive yes. But not an SHO in my eyes. No yamahammer no SHO. That's how I see it.
fordfanatic
oh and here's another example for ya. the 96 thunderbird and 96 mustang both had the exact same engine in them, yet there was a performance difference. why? because ford babies the mustang. i wish it was the 60's and early 70's again when you could get something besides a mustang (or special edition svt, sho) that would haul fucking ass.

ehhh tuning is an easy fix. and you could get the parts from the Lincoln which wont get detuned. I say that cause if they drop off the power mark for the MKS it wont compete in the area they want to compete in. BMW and Audi will eat them for lunch!
MeanMachine
im with fordfanatic on this one.

the mark motor had different heads or cams....i cant remember exactly
fordfanatic
if i remember correctly the marks got "b" heads. but dont quote me on that.

thats if there is an aftermarket for it. traditionally the largest amount of aftermarket support follows the stang.
