hey everyone. so right now my car is on the road to a red/black color theme but i'm thinking of switching it before its too late to a lilac/black theme?

here are the colors i see in my head.. what do you think?
by the way i have civic but the exterior would be a black body with either red rims/lilac rims in a jdm style of course.

just so you guys can get a better idea of the style im going for. these rims i used photoshop to make them as close to the previous color scheme.
HoldenOnLS2

def go with this, everyone has red wheels, its getting played out
Stangman_NB
normally i would say purple is gay BUT you are a girl so it's ok to go with that theme. Like Adam said red is played out so purple would be a better bet.

Have you considered black and copper? I love that color scheme!

Usually I'm biased against anything "ricey," but I have to say those purple wheels look really nice! I think they'd look wicked good and be real unique!

PURPLE!!!!!!!!!

That purple actually look's pretty good, i seen a black 96 style civic today with pink wheels
Hyland33
i actually like the purple
CaityD
I didn't think I would like the purple but it actually looks pretty nice.....girl that works next to me has a black corolla with purple/pink rims...i think its a fuschia color and it looks really really good...have you considered a darker purple/ fuschia?
96CIVICcakes
thanks everyone =] i havent considered pink/fushia or anything... i think pink is such a common girl car color theme... kinda wanna do something a little different. but like i said i love the red & black but wanna do a something different. but not way outta control. because, i still have to drive my car everyday as well as putting it in shows... but, yeah so if i go with the purple rims... i wanna do this to the interior and then i'll be done with the color scheme lol but, if i do the the purple/black theme then i'll to the gauges in blue... but yeahhh heres my photoshop skills of the interior of my car....

this are my interior now..

this is what it could look like...

Mk3 Supra
that looks cool, you should go with the black/lilac color, it will seperate you apart from everyone else.
Hyland33
yeah, did you try doing the colors opposite...i wouldnt go too crazy with the purple otherwise it'll look tacky
96CIVICcakes
no i didnt try it doing opposite but i'll try now, yeah i def. dont want it to look at all tacky. thats why im leaving the dash alone.
Sully
start small and hide the wires from everything! Make it a real clean appearance with everything in its place. Before you go nuts with this keep in mind the resale of a black and purple car is going to be way lower. I do like how your going somewhere new. But I would caution against doing something gender specific. If my girl asked me to drive her car for any reason and it was all girled out, I'd probably tell her to pound sand. Its also why there is nothing to "guyish" on my car.

If you should decide to bring the black and purple inside, i would say leave the charcoal part of the seat as your black because it will match the dash and vinyl better than if you dyed it black. If you dye the seats black then you should also look into blacking out the dash, and by then maybe bring some minor purple accents in to match the seats... again going for a clean appearance.
Sully
just a thought from when I had my EM2.... what about going with an acura interior or something like that where you can get them in leather. RSX and 7th gen civic seats are pretty much a direct swap. If you went with a nice black leather, it wouldn't hurt your resale by limiting your buyer base. If I am way off here and this is a forever car, then do it up! I'd still do the black leather with purple stitching. You could probably get it reupholstered for a decent amount.
Hyland33
I like the Acura swap idea...i think black leather with purple stitching would look amazing
Sully
or comepletely different, tint out the windows and leave the car shut at shows.... concentrate on getting the outside the way you want it then work out a game plan for the interior.

I'm not trying to be a know it all jerk. I'm just trying to help out with ideas for your ride. My civic got everything but the interior done.

i did color match all the lights in the interior

96CIVICcakes
no i complete get what you guys are saying. and i dont plan on selling it but i dunno... i did the opposite and i wasnt planning on doing leather or dying the material i was planning on doing a micro-suede fabric and getting them restitched i was thinking black with a purple stitch but i can imagine it so its kinda hard for me to grasp. the exterior i already know i want the purple rims for shows and my millie migilias for not. but like im doing a 99 conversion to the front end and painting it a black metallic (with a small amount of purple pearl so its just a hint not outta control or anything) but heres the reversed look...

Sully
I think the reversed looks better, and i like the micro fiber idea. If your civic dash is anything like mine was, you can get any color light you want for the dials and such on the dash. I left mine the dark orange since everything else was red and they were close enough.... but ive seen blue, green, red, yellow. I'm sure if you found a purple light it would work too. Just a matter of if your dash works like that or not.
96CIVICcakes
im thinking of doing blue lighting.
Sully
i would stick to two colors and rock them everywhere!
96CIVICcakes
yeah true. =]
