Ok so a thread on the lincoln forum led me to a site where they are doing some pretty crazy fiber glass work. They work on anything doing whatever they want like its nothing. I've been reading through that forum and a few others on the topic and I might be getting ready to make a FG something or other. I want to do a lip kit for the LS, but I want to start off smaller. I was thinking about making a hood for Sarah's TA, but I hate her so thats out of the question.
These people do work like this as if its nothing!

here's one I dont get either, but look at this shit!!!!!!!!!!!

Fiberglass cracks relatively easily AND black will show cracks and spider webs like no other color. May look nice but unless your car is a trailer or garage queen (which we know yours isn't Sully), you'll be hating life in no time.

Sully, that car looks badass, you should go with that look, does Roush have parts for your car?

nobody makes parts for my car. There is like two body kits out there. Wings West makes one and then LSE body kit from lincoln. Neither of them are even close to what I want.
So if not in fiberglass... what I make them of? I can make the molds pretty easy. I just need to figure out what to make the kit out of.

FG is light as hell. if the car cant handle an extra Lb or two, it has no business carrying stuff like oh i dont know.... PEOPLE
I know there are tons of hoods out there for her car. I want to make a damn hood for my car but hers is MUCH easier to learn on.

pretty much why i said it sully. butttttt the big difference that everyone is forgetting, myself included, sully is moving to florida. no sand, no salt, no shitty roads, no snow. so the fiberglass actually isnt a bad idea when you look at it like that

yeah but the second he taps anything or someone decides to lean their fat ass on his car when he isn't around........spider cracks if not worse

I would not want to do that to Sarahs car. I'm not doubting your abilities, but one screw up, one crack, blemish, scuff, minor line and she'll tear your throat out and eat it on the spot.
Besides, I think she has more important things to worry about on that car than the hood.

and how does one work poly? same as FG?
Not a clue. Maybe mold

All I know is polyurethane actually flexes unlike fiberglass.

Exactly! It's what car manufacturers and aftermarket companies like Saleen use to make their body kits

poly INJECTION molding....... ummm yeah, a little out of my league with the tools available to me.
even if I were to make a FG mold, then copy it and fus the two sections about 1/8" apart, i doubt it would work!

I am making fiberglass door panels for my car right now. The first door pannel is almost done and the shits not that hard to work with, just messy as hell. Not sure if it's the same for poly though.

poly seems to be much harder. you have to make a mold first.
here is what I believe the poly process to be
make mold for FG
make FG "master"
make mold of Master
inject poly in to new mold.
destroy mold and remove poly part..... install.
it could take days to weeks to make just the master. OI basically have to make a FG body kit before I can start with the poly one.
