So my GTP's hood was pretty much fuxxored when I bought it. Looks like someone smothered a shitload of bondo on it, smacked it with a hammer, then spray painted over it. Soooo come spring, its getting stripped and painted. But me being me... I cant drive a NORMAL stock looking car, so I kinda want to put a scoop on it or something. But the question is.. what even? I had considered everything from stock '04 GTP blisters, 91-92 Z28 hood blisters, an SS style scoop, GTO style scoops, I just dont really know. I'd get it molded and made to be open, regardless of whether or not it was a bolt on scoop.
What do you guys think? Any ideas? PS, I'm NOT buying a new hood.

PS, I'm NOT buying a new hood.

I'm getting wheels for it, and building a CAI, and I'm only doing something to the hood because it disgusts me to look at considering the rest of the paint is flawless. I'd rather put that kinda cash into my firebird. A scoop is something I could do myself or have done cheap.

I kinda do too, and I think that would be a better fit for a Pontiac than an SS or Maro type deal.

I have not, thanks man. They have that coolant bottle I need to put the CAI in. I just cannot justify paying 700 bucks for a hood for this car... when I can put a 700$ LSx in my bird hahaha.

I'm not trying to steal your thunder, I think its a viable idea. If I could get a scoop like that, I'd have it ready to go for March haha
I was even thinking of something like this...

Just not sure if it would look right.

your gonna pay $700 to have someone fab you a hood to look like that SLP hood and it will never be perfect. Look around for a used one you never know what you can find out there.

But then I'd have to paint it anyways. (more than likely) So it kinda defeats the purpose. Fuck it, maybe I'll just leave it smooth and paint it.
Steph... I just did! Ohhhhhhh!
