Alrighty. I have a chance to pick up a nice y-pipe for my car. I was really hoping for SS and the one I found isn't. But I was told it was Jet Hot Coated. Would that protect it from the wonderful salt they put on the roads up here or should I keep searching for a SS?

the SS pipe would better i believe but if its jet coated it should be good for a while.

Jet hot is good shit. I think you'll be fine for the length of time you have the car.

Yea I've heard good stuff about the jet hot stuff. I just want to have to turn around and buy another y-pipe in a year or whatever. Just curious if it can handle the abuse of the winters up here.

jet hot is good shit like they've said. if i recall correctly, the 2000? degree coating is the better one. i think some people had issues of the lower one flaking off or something. maybe it was a personal preference that even though they were coated, they didn't look as new for very long compared to the other.
meh..

my headers are were coated from Jet Hot last summer and so far so good. I think Jet hot offer a one year warranty on used parts. You should be fine with a coated pipe for the time being. it will last you for years to come.

my USED headers were done on my cougar. the car pretty much sat outside for 4 years.. the headers are just barely starting to peel. AND I cooked them with a cam breakin.
