vin another way that is hard is to take a small mirror and put it behind the drivers side head and it will be marked what it is I believe. or look for any original stickers in the engine bay or possibly the door.

the sticker under the hood should say how many liters it is.that is if it's still there. that will tell you the size 5.7=350 5.0=305

Pull the head and measure the stroke. That will tell you for sure.

The 8th digit in the VIN is the engine code. It is also on the Emissions sticker under the hood, As previously stated. If you can find it on the sticker any auto parts store can tell you if you have the 8th digit.
But as also stated they are all the same. Good luck with the gaskets.

Adam they are the same, if you need one let me know I have about 359,987,671 of them. Probably a 305 in your truck, but like I said it doesn't matter, all sbc have the same base pan.
