my headliner has started to droop sad.gif i mean the car IS 13 years old, but it's such an eye-sore. what can i do besides the ghetto stapler to the roof? is it something that can be easily removed and re-installed but look like new?

headliners are easy.

* go to pep boys "a real shop would be better but if cost is an issue it will work", buy some headliner and some GOOD contact adhesive. make sure it is contact. it avoids a messy nightmare trust me.

* take off everything atatched to the roof and the seat belts

* drop down the headliner

* peel off the FABRIC ONLY. do not bend the core or you will be fucked

* take a razor or i use a wire brush, scrape off the soft foamy material down to the core

* roll the new headliner out onto the core,

* fold it in half Without creasing it.

* spray adhesive on both the core and the headliner. wait untill it tacks up a bit.

* start from the fold an inch your way out by evenly applying the two pieces to each other. as if you were placing on a decal

* do the same for the other side.

* flip the headliner so the backside is up and spray the edges.

* wrap the excess headliner around the other side as best as you can paying attention to the corners.

* cut the excess off the back

* cut an X in any and all holes where screws and the dome light go

* Reinstall the headliner in reverse order that you took it out.

* Enjoy Your Work and crack open a beer, you done good kid!

a buddy of mine used an iron to just heat up the glue again and it stuck got him throught til he had time to do it right but make sure to move the iron around just like you were ironing a shirt or a pair of pants or you'll burn through it lol

Thread has been moved to its correct section.

And yes you can take the headliner out and use adhesive on the back to stop it from sagging.
