POWDERCOATING WHEELS IS A BAD FUCKING IDEA. I know people do it but that doesn't make it safe, or even reasonably safe.
Here's a thread describing why.
http://corner-carvers.com/forums/showthrea...ight=powdercoatEither make sure you can verify the powdercoating process that the shop uses, and if they don't use the Thermotron ovens mentioned in that thread (it's highly unlikely they do due to operating costs) just paint the things, or get new wheels. It's not worth the risk of having your wheels fail on you.

THE COMPANY I WORK FOR POWDERCOATS.
ALL THE CLEARCOATS ARE POWDERCOAT ON THE WHEELS, THEN BAKED IN AN OVEN ON A CONVEYOR BELT. WE PAINT THE COLOR AND WE ARE ALSO ABLE TO POWDERCOAT WHEEL COLORS...WE OFFER LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE WHEELS***

as long as its done right, powdercoating is the best for wheels.... my cousin just had his copper S wheels powder coated white to match the roof and mirrors, looks incredible over painted
