Any srt4 owners here that can diagnose a problem? I've got a friend with an 04 srt4 that has some sort of hesitation when pulling into boost. Mods are mopar S1 tune, agp wastegate..3in cti turboback side exit exhaust, intake mod, cti ported O2 housing. I'm not sure exactly how to explain it...but we've replaced all spark plugs, wires and the coil pack...played with mulitiply gap settings and there is still a slight hesitation when pulling into boost. He does not have a wideband, but I think it is more of an A/F issue than a spark issue. He did have his boost set way to high for his stock injectors...so its been cranked way down to like 8-10psi and the hesitation is still there. I have heard it could be the O2 sensor in the O2 housing...but was looking for some more insight and where to go to help him out.

That was my thought, as well. This is a relatively common problem on some SRT-4's.

Some other members may have additional input, however (Bruce, etc). I didn't own my SRT-4 long enough to learn the fundamentals of it lol.gif

Just exactly how long is the hesitation? Merely a second or couple of seconds? And what kind of BOV is on there?

You should call a buddy of mine, he has a sick red srt. he knows everything about those things. his car went 11.7@124 on a bone stock motor, and is building it now.

more like a sec....its worse when its cold out...this has been an ongoing problem...and it usually does it around 5-7psi. Its the piece of shit mopar bov...which I know is notorious for leaking.

that would be boost, im talking vacuum, more specifically pre turbo.

That 'could' be the problem then. Unless he started to have problems after putting on the new wastegate.

yeah...sorry reading>me...I'll ask...I dont recall "hearing" any vacuum leaks and I know he did eliminate a few lines switching over to the agp and ziptied the rest...but anything is possible. All I know is it hesitates pulling into boost around 5-7 psi for a sec or two and the continues its way to full boost with no problems...and it pulls pretty good after the hesitation. I wanna try to figure this out...so I can rematch his skittle boxing.gif lol

no....the car ran fine for awhile with the agp on. I know the mopar bov's have paper like gaskets on them dont they? Do you know how long they "typically" last?

Mine lasted for about 70,000 without any problems, I switched over to Greddy Type S for the time being, The only weird vacuum problems I had is when I switched over one of my hoses (Cold Side) for the Greddy Type S, It looked like it was properly snug onto my intercooler, clamp and all, but under pressure it would create a slight leak of which I had to change out the clamp. The only reason why I noticed it was leaking from there was because of slight oil spray on the bottom of the pipe.

Now when you said Stage 1 Tune, is it the Mopar Stage One Upgrade or the DiabloSport Predator Tune.....
